I don't know if ou heard his example, but he caimed when you buy a coke for $1.00 there's a .23 hidden tax (I have no way of kowing if that's true or not), so with his flat tax, your oke would have that hidden tax eliminated and the national sales tax @ 23% would add .23 bringing the cost of your coke back to $1.00, and your State tax would be on top of that the same as it is now. What planet would eliminate ALL hidden taxes? Certainl not THIS ONE!

The other point is that I've read quite a few articles on how a fair tax would operate, and almost all of them said the rate would hive to be much igher than 23%! The lowest I recall was 25% and the highest was 38%. Talk about a regressive tax!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, so let me see if I've got this. The progressive income tax is actually hidden in the price of a can of coke, so eliminating the income tax would automatically drop the price of a can of coke by exactly 23%, whereupon the new 23% national sales tax makes up the difference. But wait, weren't we just talking about progressive income tax? The shit we fill out forms for every year? I never once had to provide detail of my beverage consumption so my 23% income tax... no wait, sales tax... no wait...
