FSU Film School screens award winning documentary "Fuel"
I just got this in an email this morning, but wanted to post the information since they will be showing this documentary across the Gulf Coast region. Although they give no information about where else it will be shown, I suppose the people in the press release can be contacted. There is no information I can find on the FSU Film School site about Tuesday's screening or future screenings.

FILM SCHOOL’S TORCHLIGHT PROGRAM TO SCREEN TIMELY, AWARD-WINNING DOCUMENTARY ‘FUEL’

Filmmaker and FSU Alumnus Josh Tickell to Attend and Discuss Sustainable Energy

Florida State University alumnus Josh Tickell, who grew up in the bayous of southern Louisiana among the derricks and ships of the oil industry, says that after seeing too many friends and family become sick, he was compelled to act. He spent 11 years making “FUEL,” an award-winning documentary that offers a guide through the drama of fuel — its history, politics and industry — while describing the world’s dangerous dependence on oil and the fascinating alternatives that could offer a way out.

In response to the tragic Gulf oil spill, “FUEL” is currently screening at selected venues throughout the Gulf Coast region, with a special screening presented by the Torchlight Program next week in Tallahassee. That screening, which is free and open to the public, will take place:

MONDAY, JULY 12
6:30 P.M.
ASKEW STUDENT LIFE CINEMA
942 LEARNING WAY
THE FLORIDA STATE UNIVERSITY

Cornerstone Learning Community, the first school in Tallahassee to install solar panels and adopt a clean energy curriculum, will host a panel discussion after the screening. Filmmaker Tickell, a 2002 MFA graduate of FSU’s College of Motion Picture Arts, will join the discussion. Panelists will include District 9 Florida Rep. Michelle Rehwinkel Vasilinda, a leading organizer of the recently formed Clean Energy Congress; Roger Whitworth, owner of Seminole Biodiesel in Bainbridge, Ga.; and local city planner Zach Galloway. The panel will be moderated by Jason Flom, a fifth-grade teacher at Cornerstone.

Among the many accolades it has received, “FUEL” was voted the best documentary by audience members at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival and was selected as a New York Times Critics’ Pick.
