Marijuana: Is there anything it can't do?
It's a medicine. It's entertainment. It's a foodstuff. Now, it's even a fuel!

http://www.spokesman.com/blogs/sirens/2010/jul/06/300-lbs-pot-seized-avista-power-plant/

This morning's Spokesman-Review contains a story about the driver being granted parole so he can see his dying brother before the driver goes to prison for bringing 300 pounds of weed into the country. Said the story, "A driver with 300 pounds of marijuana bound for the Avista plant in Kettle Falls..." Naturally, the first thing I thought was, "they're using marijuana to generate electricity in Kettle Falls? Cool!"

7. It can also be made into gasoline, not to mention very strong plastic.
Of course fiber and paper as well. We're run by crooks, idiots, and suckers.

12. Indeed.
And I'm sure it's noting but coincidence that Hearst, DuPont, & Rockefeller (paper, plastic, & oil) were so active in demonizing it.

13. My hempen pajamas counter your winter's night
As do the shirt, socks, blanket, sheets, and rug. Hemp oil would make a fine furnace fuel as well.

Other than that, it's fairly all-purpose.

16. ... it can't bring back my bf's short-term memory loss or
... stop his shakes or his lack of interest in getting back out into the job market ... h's a 30+ year regular user, and I can definitely see the negative effects synergizing over the past 1.5 years ....

18. Are you saying he was ok for 28.5 years? And then poof?
How can you determine that it is his pot intake that is causing any negative effects? If he used it for 28.5 years without any negative effects perhaps the problem is something else. I can't see using it for that long with no effects and then at the 28.5 year mark symptoms appear. I guess I would need to hear more information.

I wish him and you well...

22. I'm sorry you're going through this...
But his situation could describe millions of people who've never even had pot.

Sounds like he's in his 40's? 50's? Short term memory loss at that age is pretty common, isn't it? Or is it really bad?

The shakes? I've heard of it happening, but is it actually the weed? Perhaps a visit to a doctor - for either of these things - is in order?

As for his disinterest in the job market... can you blame him?

I do hope things get better for you, though.
