Falluja, May 12, (VOI) - Four Iraqi armed groups in Falluja on Saturday formed a unified front under the name "Jihad and Reforms Front," a statement said on Saturday. "Four armed factions: the Islamic army, Ansar al-Sunna, Mujahids army and al-Ishrin (1920) revolution brigades, have decided to form a unified front with one strategic view under the name (Jihad and Reforms Front)," said a statement distributed in Falluja city, 45 km west of Baghdad, and hung on main buildings in the Sunni city on Saturday morning.
The statement added, "the main target of the new front will be fighting U.S. troops and all Iraqi forces." Armed groups operating in the Sunni Anbar province, western Iraq, usually distribute statements on their operations against U.S. and Iraqi troops stationed there. There is no specific number available of the armed groups operating in Iraq, as some use fake names or operate for a while then disappear. Only a small number of armed groups remain active by claiming responsibility for operations against security forces and the Multi-National forces.
