I'm Out of Here, DU....
Edited on Sat May-12-07 09:31 PM by catnhatnh
For years I've wanted to deprive you of my witty humor.I have jealously watched as others with higher post counts grabbed and twisted your entrails to induce agony at their leaving and fully expect the "don't let the door hit you where the good lord split you" type reply....but I leave both differently and sadly. After a couple of years of bathing myself in the soothing pool of people dedicated like myself to the concepts of democracy and the basic nobility of the human spirit I find myself returning to a workaday existence that precludes the hours a day I have dedicated to the wisdom found here...I have started my first business and will be here much less than before.I love you all-even those who do not reciprocate.I will try hard to read all posts.Special thanks to Husb2Sparkly,Landshark,Horsewithnoname,and others...I'm too onery to never post, but love to all members...

as many times as it takes to succeed, however you define succeed. Or, dare I say it, here's to succeeding the first time around.

12. Good fortune and best wishes for success
as a an owner of a struggling small business, I know the ups and downs, and this is an occasional refuge, sometimes to escape, sometimes as a transition as I take one hat off (accounting) to put on another (marketing), so don't say goodbye - say see ya, just not as often.

19. Good luck on your business and all of your endeavors in life
I only get nominated posts because
I gather news.......and am terribly dull,
serious and try to keep my sense of irony.

You still get news like no other place, but
thankfully the Anna Nicole threads never
make it to the front or greatest page.

Now the DUZys are still worth a fraction of your time.

Good luck!!

24. Wow - great news. Someday I will learn how to start a business that does not
fail (as did a half hearted effort of mine 30 years ago to get a second income from a computer consulting effort that hit a high of a half dozen employees before I gave the existing contracts to those employees and bowed out for lack of money relative to time invested getting and supervising those contracts).

I really appreciate the effort you have ahead of you - good luck - and if you get some down time to play with, make it political! :-)

35. Best of luck to you in your business venture. I hope it works out for you.
It takes a lot of dedication along with untold hours, blood, sweat & tears. I opened a restaurant 7 months ago, and so far my bank account is about $65,000 lighter and I have to scratch up 8 grand by the end of next month for the tax man, but I keep telling myself things are gonna get better. They've *got* to! Business is picking up every day now, and I fully expect it to boom once school is out and summer travel season swings into high gear.

Keep a close eye on your cash register, your garbage cans and your freezers/coolers. These are the main points of theft from employees, from my own experience.

43. A recipe for success .....
.... back in another life, I worked for a company that operated **many** airport food establishments - they also catered airlines back when a ticket to fly also bought a meal.

We got some hot shot Harvard MBA type as our president. He brought along a gaggle of marketing types with him.

Instead of honest food at honest (if not a bit inflated - captive audience, yanno) prices, his motto was "Sell that hot dog for fifty bucks. You only have to sell two to have a successful day."

He didn't last all that long.

Best to ya, catnhatnh! :hi:

I **know** we'll be seeing you soon. Even hot dog moguls need to take a break every now and then!
