Beck calls Michelle's pants and top outfit
Edited on Fri Jul-16-10 10:20 PM by tblue37
a "dress" and says that in choosing it to wear when she went to see the oil spill, she had committed an "outrage" and was being like Marie Antoinette. (Yes, he said "outrage"!)

But then Bill O'Reilley mocks Beck for calling Michelle's outfit an outrage and for saying that her garden is a leftwing plot.

I think Billo really doesn't much like Beck or Palin! At least his RW fans are getting a bit of inoculation against the Beck and Palin worship promoted everywhere else on FOX.

2. O'Reilley seems taken aback by how far out Beck and Palin are.
I am amazed at how often he ends up mocking them. I wodner whether it is just that they are stealing his thunder by becoming the new darlings of FOX, or whether they actually are too extreme even for him.

7. Also, Obama had the stones to go on the Factor
Billo may not agree with Barack Obama on much, but he respects those who will come on the show.

I get the notion that he's just now realizing just how steep the hill he's been coasting down really is.

fool IMO that the other two are... also, Billo, actually sometimes says some insightful things when he's not off on a political rant. I can't think of anything Beck or the other one have uttered that I've ever found the least bit insightful or interesting. I actually think he feels the other two are well off their rockers.

4. Billo will do whatever it takes to be the Alpha dog at Fox. He will be the one who

turns on Beck first. Billo's the only one with enough seniority to buck Ailes and Murdoch. All the others are replaceable.

6. When Glenn Beck worked here in CT in the 1990's as a DJ another DJ once punched him in the face for
being an asshole. Pretty much no one who worked with him when he was a DJ here liked him. He hasn't changed much. I bet Billo can't stand him, he is not considered easy to work with.

someday.

Actually, I am glad to see Bill tearing into Palin and Beck. Since many of the RWrs watch Bill, they won't escape seeing their darlings made fun of by someone whose opinion they respect.

31. The problem is Michele Obama
does nothing controversial. So the right has to manufacture stuff to criticize her. Why else would Beck say something about her "dress" when any one looking at her could see it was pants and a top.

12. I know it's a minor point, too, but I can't figure out why he called her pants and top
a dress. That's just weird.

Also, I haven't yet figured out what he thought was wrong with the outfit. He couldn't be complaining that her paints wer white, could he? I mean, it is summer, and besides, the other women in the video were wearing white pants, too.

And if it wasn't the color he was calling an outrage and a "Marie Antoinette" moment, then what exactly was he so outraged about? Can anyone figure it out?

25. She was in it
And it's her most offensive act yet simply because it's his most recent observation of her. if he notices her tomorrow, whatever she's doing at that time will then become the most offensive one yet.

18. Why bother posting this?
If Obama were to put on a scuba suit, dive to the bottom of the ocean and block the well by putting his penis in it, Beck would bitch because he didn't do it on Day 1, he spent government money to travel to Louisiana that would have been better spent on a tax cut, he's interfering with the grandeur of the private sector by using a government employee's penis instead of an unemployed worker's, and he was being a racist by implying white men's penises aren't big enough to plug an oil well.

complain about Michelle, but also in the fact that over the past week or so, O'Reilley has rather aggressively mocked both Beck and Palin on his show, though both of them are darlings of the extreme right and rising stars on O'Reilley's own home network.

You must admit that it's pretty extreme for Beck to complain that Michelle's ordinary pants outfit is an "outrage" and to say it's a "Marie Antoinette" act to wear it. In fact, he says it is the worst "Marie Antoinette" thing she has ever done.

It is not unusual here on DU to highlight the bizarre behavior of our opponents and to comment on just how bizarre they are being. It is also notunusual to highlight evidence of stresses and disagreements within the RW camp.

I couldn't tell if it was an accidental statement choice or not.

Every now and then my partner and I watch one of Beck's Founder's Fridays. The shows are informative and well put together, despite Beck. The last one I saw was about women during the American Revolution. Some of the history I was familiar with, but all in all I think people need to know this. Here's a transcript:

I was extremely annoyed by Beck's remark about 'awful bonnet movies starring Emma Thompson.'}(
