I was fortunate to meet and see Mr. Wilson speak last night. He is warm, interesting, and quite accessible. Above is the website they have set up to disseminate info about their ongoing civil suit as well as a depository for info about the criminal trial.

Their legal representation is being handled pro bono for them, but donations can be made to compensate their legal team, which is a non-profit group you may know: Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW).

As we chatted while he signed his book for me, I mentioned my admiration for his courage in challenging the government, and he quoted Thomas Jefferson:

“When governments fear the people there is liberty. When the people fear the government there is tyranny."

Along with his wife. Upright people, treated badly by their government, and with grace under a great deal of pressure.

Has anyone actually verified that Thomas Jefferson quote? I searched his papers once trying to find that quote, but I came up empty.
