Election 2010: Are Democrats Doing Enough

I was watching a little of a speech given by Amy Walter of The Hotline on C-SPAN. Walter was discussing the 2010 election. At one point Walter discussed a poll that pitted the Democratic idea that the Republicans wrecked the economy vs. the Republican idea that the Democrats have spent too much money. When listening the Walter I wondered if the Democrats were doing enough to take on the Republican Party's talking points. Walter pointed out that Republicans are claiming Democrats have put forward job destroying policies as well as spending too much money.

Are Democrats pointing out that George W. Bush, who presided with a Republican controlled Congress through much of his presidency, had one of the worst job creation records in U.S. history? Is the message being put out there that it was under a mainly Republican controlled congress that the U.S. debt rose from $4 trilllion to $9 trillion? Are the American people being made aware of the fact that under Republican control of Congress wasteful spending actually went up and then fell after Democrats took control of Congress? Are Democrats trying to debate Republican on these issues or are they just waiting to get their butts kicked?
