Political Discussion
Can we ever have a civil political discussion between both parties without name calling which is considered to be a logical fallacy?

2. Not for very long
Some people are incapable or unwilling to engage in a rational, civil discussion.

I blame them.

6. Of course not.
Republicans will never stop the name-calling.

Democrats are willing to take the high ground, but Republicans will never join them. It's all the Republican's faulth.

Just read a few threads on DU. You'll see. High ground.

Do I need this?

:sarcasm:

8. Limbaugh, Beck, et al
Limbaugh, Beck, et al have trained a generation to instantly go on an incoherent attack at any mention of politics. The MSM picked up the torch years ago. If you know anyone who listens to the right-wing extremist media, pay attention. They will occasionally go into incoherent rages without perceivable incitement, purpose, or even context. It's called mind control, and it has become so extreme and so widespread that it is literally terrifying.

10. Yep, agree. The political landscape in the US has become quite bizarre. The R's have
really gone off the deep end. I really can't think of one of their value statements (or whatever) that is not wacky. Frankly, I think Beck, Limbaugh and the like are seriously undermining the sovereignty of the country. They do nothing but increase the level of hatred in this country.

12. We almost can't have a civil political discussion here on DU
between Democrats, so I'd say no to your question.

13. Patience
The problems about politics is that taps into that one area of the human soul called resentments. Taking proactive action to properly inventory one's political resentment, admitting it to other side, and than taking actions

In this political environment, it is impossible to work with the GOP because they have no solutions to most problem. Except for the issue with Freddie and Fannie, I find few GOP idea appealing to solve this nation great problem.
