Serious question re this explosion of crime
What could have passed between them that it would be safe?

Premise: I believe a fertile and secure environment was promised all these people to cheat, betray, take - what is the one thing that would make them think they wouldn't get caught?

It has to be based on an underlying belief - that they would not get caught? Why?

Is THE RATIONAL something like this?

We are Republicans and we're protected. We're protected because we will remain in power. We will remain in power because we will own power - judges, courts, media, and vote outcomes and a receptive WH with all their partners in the Departments and Agencies and the barons?

If a promise of perpetual power, it means they have communicated with each other. Some way or another the word passed from one to another that they could get away with this (whichever crime they're particpating in).

Though the crimes are varied (- the Justice Dept, highly revered military, smeared and hated CIA, WH, elected leaders, foundations-think tanks -), there is a commanality - a 'knowledge' that it would be OK and safe.

This is my question -

What was at the core of belief that there was safety in the deals/agreements/acts and gathering in of the rewards? What could have passed between them that it would be safe?

5. Greed arrogance, yes. But, what was said between them that led
them to believe they could get away with it? Don't you think there is some communication to them that made them believe they would be safe?

Many would give in to greed and arrogance, but they don't commit crimes for various reasons, often because they don't want to get caught? Something else is going on here.

The volume of greedy and arrogant says something.

I believe it says that they thought they were safe.

6. Yes, but = what led to so many of them doing it - I believe they
believed they were safe. What could have they been told? That there wouldn't be any more elections? That their power was secured?

Something has to explain the volume of crimes and criminals.

It's not just a phenomena. Something was passed down.

9. OK try this ... they owned the WH, House, Senate, Supreme Court

and the CIA and military has always been Republican ....

that alone could have given them the confidence that they wouldn't be caught?

I don't think so.

Rucky in message 8 says it started with Cheney.

What message did Cheney send - what went out to their 'friends'? -

Did he send a message to them that said - 'OK we're in and we're not going to give it up - make your money now because we figure we can only hold these positions for 12 years, maybe 16 years - don't worry about the Dems because some of them will be with us, anyway'. How? What did he say to them that assured them that they wouldn't get caught? Did he tell them to go ahead and steal because if things got bad - they would declare martial law in order to prevent lawsuits? How drastic was the message?

There has to be something that justified their arrogance.

We have been able to figure out what happened in the secret energy meetings. We've been able to figure out much of what might have happened on that September day? We've learned all about the PNAC letters and wording. WHAT can we figure out that was SAID to these people that made them fearless in their arrogance?

Normally, even arrogant and greedy people don't commit the kinds of crimes these people are committing. Some message and assurance was passed along that made them make the decision.
