Fuck Andrew Breitbart And His Immoral Shit!
Edited on Tue Jul-20-10 07:44 PM by Hissyspit
This garbage has to stop NOW.

Dems have to QUIT CAVING to this shit. And the mainstream media needs to be skeptical IMMEDIATELY.

And fuck Fox News and their unethical garbage.

The ACORN smear was BULLSHIT. Deliberate slander and lies meant to destroy people's lives for political gain.

Quit running my country on BULLSHIT.

Shirley Sherrod Update
By Kevin Drum on Tue. July 20, 2010 4:58 PM PDT

I've written a bunch of updates to my post this morning about the video of USDA Director of Rural Development Shirley Sherrod — the one posted Monday at BigGovernment.com where she allegedly fesses up to treating white people poorly — but you might have missed them if you don't routinely revisit posts you've already read.

VIDEO. AT LiNK

- snip -

UPDATE 2: The NAACP backtracks: "With regard to the initial media coverage of the resignation of USDA Official Shirley Sherrod, we have come to the conclusion we were snookered by Fox News and Tea Party Activist Andrew Breitbart into believing she had harmed white farmers because of racial bias. Having reviewed the full tape, spoken to Ms. Sherrod, and most importantly heard the testimony of the white farmers mentioned in this story, we now believe the organization that edited the documents did so with the intention of deceiving millions of Americans."

Jeez. Fox News and Breitbart ginning up a phony outrage over some alleged liberal atrocity? Helluva hard thing to believe, isn't it?

UPDATE 3: The full video is here. The segment in question starts at 16:30 and goes for about five minutes. "You know," she starts, "God will show you things, and can put things in your path, so that you realize that the struggle is really about poor people." Then, after telling the story of Roger Spooner, she ends with this: "Working with him made me see that it's really about those who have versus those who don't. And they could be black, they could be white, they could be Hispanic."

1. He'll get away w it just like his asshole dweeby friend O'Keefe. I'm pissed at Vilsack!
He needs to turn his resignation, or be fired for his comments:

Way To Stay Strong, Tom
David Kurtz | July 20, 2010, 6:27PM

It's easy to pop Andrew Breitbart in this whole mess, but Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack isn't exactly covering himself with glory. Vilsack was on CNN earlier essentially saying that it doesn't matter whether Breitbart's video turns out to be a bogus smear of Shirley Sherrod. No, Vilsack demanded Sherrod's resignation because the whole episode could open her up to charges of racism in the future and impair her ability to do her job.

So I guess if I were to write that Tom Vilsack doesn't have his people's back and won't even do a cursory investigation before throwing his employees to the wolves, then that could open him up to charges that he doesn't have the confidence of USDA employees and impair his ability to do his job.

Dangerous logic.

4. And when the truth finally does come out...
like with ACORN..they're on to the next "hot topic" and it's lost. As is a good organization such as ACORN. Damn shame.

7. I'm glad that this time, some in the media see through
the bull. MSNBC and CNN have had good coverage and because of that, hopefully this woman will not become another Juan Vera.
