Should Fox News be eliminated from the WH Press Corps????
To think they would even be considered to sit in Helen Thomas's old seat, I honestly think they should be eliminated from the Corps. It has been established numerous times they are not actually a "news" outlet so why should they even be in the room. Secondly, this would be such a slap in the face to Murdoch and the Right, either become a valuable news source or stick with the tabloids.

1. At this point, yes.
They've made it clear that they aren't interested in doing the most basic journalistic exercise of getting all sides of a story.

2. Don't hold your breath
The WH is scared shitless of them. The president may make a lukewarm statement of condemnation from time to time but the actions of his administration don't give you a warm and fuzzy feeling that they will ever do anything to faux.

14. The old phrase "scared shitless" has now been redefined as "bipartisan"
They can't seem to take even one baby step forward without playing "Murdoch May I?" first. (Look at how quick the USDA was to throw Ms. Sherrod under the bus after The Mighty Beck's name was mentioned.)

23. Thank you. I have occasional bouts of lucidity (usually one per year, in fact).
And that was probably it for this year.:hi:

Jeff Gannon was more legitimate.

8. Faux should be banned, permanently from WH Press Corps, and FCC investigating the corrupt media
and ordering Rupert Murdoch to shut down his entity called "News Corp" permanently and deported back to Australia.

10. The WH already tried to take the first steps to do this but the other
news agencies backed up Fox and the WH had to given in. Earlier this year or last, the WH was making either President Obama or one of his primary staff available for interviews with all the networks, except Fox. The networks refused to do the interviews unless Fox was included, so the WH gave in.

22. Even better. Glenn Beck has "discovered" that the WH was
wrong. And he's very, very disappointed in the Obama administration for its "shameful railroading" of this poor woman.

Sorry, probably won't help the stomach.

17. no.
the people need to decide who is/isn't a legitimate news organization. There needs to be some steps to getting credentials, but it would be a very bad precedent for the administration to yank credentials because of misstatements or even lies. Who knows what the next republican administration will consider to be a misstatement or lie.

24. No. It's childish to seek only voices that are agreeable to you. If Bush had banished GEM$NBC
just imagine the justified uproar that would have ensued. It seems almost certain he would have liked to banish them, given his personality, but was wisely advised against it.

No. Eliminating your political enemies from the WH press core just reeks of the paranoid, fascistic tendencies of Nixon and other despicable pubs.

29. Fuck yeah. It is a "PRESS" Corp. FOX is NOT "news".
Even letting FOX in the room is like putting Velveeta on a plate of fine cheeses, or including Mad Dog 20/20 in a tasting of top-line wines.
