The first station in the Pacifica Radio network and the first listener-supported radio station in the United States.
Been supporting KPFA for about forty years. Mom got me started.

The great thing I think is the Pacifica archives. It goes back to before the civil rights days. Much of the news about the 60's can be had as recorded back then.
Sometimes I would like to play some that history for the revisionists here at DU.

back in the day, the Klan bombed KPFT in Houston off the air -- twice -- so you know they must be doing something right!

a little community radio station broadcasting from the small city about 20 miles south of me. Their signal is so weak that I have to listen to it online, and I tend to forget to check in. Thanks for the reminder!
