Thar's Gold in them thar hills!
KERSHAW, SC (WBTV) A massive discovery of gold potentially worth billions of dollars, and the find could mean hundreds of new jobs.

The gold mine is in Kershaw, in Lancaster County, South Carolina.

Officials believe there is more than four million ounces of gold buried in the ground here.

Do the math, gold sells for $1,000 an ounce today. That could be 4 billion dollars worth of the precious metal.

Gold was first discovered in Lancaster County in the late 1760's. Since then it mining has been on and off.

Miners believed they dug the last gold out of Haile Gold Mine back in the 1990's, they thought the ore was tapped out.

That's until Romarco Minerals Incorporated, yelled Eureka, and found more gold in them hills.
