Obama signs unemployment benefits extension, blasts Republicans
<snip>

"President Obama signed the extension of unemployment benefits late this afternoon, blasting the Republicans and saying the measure will "restore desperately needed assistance to two-and-a-half million Americans who lost their jobs in the recession."

"After a partisan minority used procedural tactics to block the authorization of this assistance three separate times over the past weeks, Americans who are fighting to find a good job and support their families will finally get the support they need," Obama said in a statement."

"Here is the statement in full:

Today, I signed the unemployment insurance extension to restore desperately needed assistance to two and a half million Americans who lost their jobs in the recession.

After a partisan minority used procedural tactics to block the authorization of this assistance three separate times over the past weeks, Americans who are fighting to find a good job and support their families will finally get the support they need to get back on their feet during these tough economic times.

Now it's time for Congress to act on more proposals that support our economic recovery, including passing critical aid to our states and support to small businesses.

Small businesses are the engine of job growth, and measures to cut their taxes and make lending available should not be held hostage to partisan tactics like those that unconscionably held up unemployment insurance.

Maybe the critical aid to the states will help my grandsons who are eligible for work/study aid from their colleges will be able to get the money they need! According to UCONN ...."they are out of funds"!!! Ct. schools are having to lay off teachers because there are "no funds available" from the Govt.

2. I am sick of republicans WILLFULLY trying to destroy our economy!
STIMULUS AT WORK: (but republicans are against the unemployed, small businesses and even workers who can't get a decent wage)

Unemployed get money.
Unemployed immediately spend that money in local businesses.
Local businesses stay afloat.
Local businesses restock their goods from manufacturers.
Manufacturers don't need to lay off people.

Republicans are whores to their corporate pimps.

4. Finally.
The repukes played with people's lives as long as they could and never let them off the hook for this absolute meanness of spirit. They showed themselves for what they are...trash.

And finally...a thread that isn't a rumor mill. It only took half a page+ to find it.
