Brush off for official haircuts

The men and boys frequenting the barbershops of Tehran have plenty of ideas about how their hair should look. Many prefer the latest styles from the United States and Europe.

But the Islamic Republic of Iran recently issued a booklet of government-approved haircuts for men in an attempt to turn them away from Western cuts.

Alireza Ronaghi reports on barbers and fashion designers in Tehran, and how they are attempting to integrate old styles with new.

2. There's something sneaky about this..
Maybe they are trying to move away from the common notion that only women's rights are oppressed in the middle east.


I couldn't care much for indecency laws anyway. Its a piece of crap pretty much in every country.

3. Kind of destroys the myth that only women's rights are
squashed in Iran. Someone here complained a few days ago that only women were being forced into submission.
