Lohan's first weekend in custody-she may be out by the end of July!
MSNBC stated earlier today that LL may be relaeased from jail as soon as the end of July rather than serve out her 90 day sentence due to overcrowded conditions...and that she has an offer from a magazine to tell "her story" of her prison ordeal...reported price to LL is around $1 million.

Yes, this unfair treatment she is getting because of her fame is just so.....unfair!

1. Her release really should depend
on whether or not a bed is available at an inpatient drug and alcohol treatment facility. That's the other half of her sentence and one she should need to fulfill.

Maybe when she gets clean and sober (albeit temporarily), she'll be able to tell a coherent story about how she has suffered.

I mean, honestly, ten days in a tacky old jail cell! Not a manicurist to be found! How awful!

3. Other inmates in that lockup are infuriated. Her mother and sister were
allowed to walk in and have a lengthy visit (I think they traveled from Long Island, but still). If the judge was trying to instill a lesson here, this is not the way to do it. She should be put on a work detail, allowed to buy some canteen, attend AA meetings and do her time. I get so sick of the treatment the "elite" receive, no lessons learned, rinse, repeat.

5. Jail is not the place for people with substance abuse problems
no matter how rich and bratty they are.

8. Cartoon Today
The Lockerbie bomber is sitting comfortably in his easy chair reading the headline that says LOHAN is going to jail.
Something is very wrong when a messed up young adult is in jail for trying to ease her pain the wrong way (drugs and alcohol) and the Lockerbie bomber is out and about.

11. She's not in jail for her substance abuse
She's in jail for violating the terms of her court-ordered probation. When a judge tells you to do something, you either appeal it, do it, or go to jail.

7. Wrong. It's the best rehab around and the cost is really a wake-up
call. After 30, 60, 90 days without whatever you were doing the fog leaves and you can re-assess your life. I found out the hard way that my friend "Dewars" was really not my friend at all. Haven't seen him in ten years and life has been great. The cost of these expensive rehabs enriches the owners, the counselors, doctors and other staff do not share in that wealth. Rehab is a big business..

9. Two weeks in jail
is more like being put in the 'time out' room before settling down to really change the behavior that landed the child in the time out room.

It's how society gets Lindsay Lohan's attention before she gets sent back to spa-hab. Maybe it will cause her to take the experience a bit more seriously next time.

10. Sad to see talent go to waste
People secretly love to see successful people suffer, especially Hollywood stars. Lindsay Lohan has a great amount of talent and is a beautiful woman. Regardless of her status, jail is not the right place for her and that much is obvious. She needs help, or she could end up dead. Its true a lot of people are incarcerated for petty crimes, more so than hardened criminals. Its a major problem with our criminal justice system. Non-violent offenders shouldn't be in jail - period.

12. I used to work as an addictions counsellor, and one of my "clients"
got drunk on her way from her release from jail to see her probation officer. I never met her face to face, but she was doing crack and drinking, robbing houses while living in a car.
She was also pregnant.
I called her probation officer when she was eventually caught, we sent her back to jail, where she gave birth to a child who lived a little under 2 weeks.

I saw her jail photo about 3 years later, and she looked about 50, with no teeth and a shrunken, wrinkled face, and her hair falling out... she would have been in her mid 20's then.

She is dead now.

I know LL has been in several rehabs where they treated her well...she needs a kick in her ass to get her attention, and 2 weeks in jail may not do it.
