Former Pennsylvania judge Michael Conahan has pleaded guilty to a racketeering conspiracy charge for helping put juvenile defendants behind bars in exchange for bribes.

He is accused along with former judge Mark Ciavarella of taking $2.8m (£1.8m) from a profit-making detention centres. Mr Ciavarella denies wrongdoing.

The two pleaded guilty last year but a federal judge tossed out part of the plea agreement for being too lenient.

1. That's wrong beyond comprehension.
I have no doubt the adult Prison Industrial Complex works in much the same manner.

2. There are many more of them
The prison industrial complex is now a corporation run by people who were supposedly responsible for JUSTICE. DOJ should go after all of them including Brewer's friends in Arizona.

5. So not all Law and Order episodes are completely made up
I saw an episode about 5 months back where a judge was getting kickbacks from a relative for sending juveniles to their facility

Why am I not surprised this shit really happens

6. That episode was actually referencing this story
This story isn't new by any means. I believe this first came to light 2-3 years ago.
