Fox News' new slogan: "We Lead, They Follow"
Referring, of course, to all other so-called news outlets.

The Shirley Sherrod story is the latest case in point. From jackass, lying sack of shit blogger, to Fox News, to all the rest of the so-called news media, to the shitstorm of last week.

And we KNOW why.

4. Cheapening Of The Corporate Media...
This is the result of the ongoing downsizing of the "media"...where experienced people are moved out to save money hiring young pups and surface trumps substance. The "Cheatwood" school of "if it bleeds it leads" dominates now. It's easier to run with the latest gossip than to do serious investigative "grunt" work...and it's generally a ratings winner. Third rails such as race or religion or sex are always welcome over complex issues that require context and aren't as "sexy".

It's so easy and cheap to manufacture "news" than actually covering it. The 24/7 cable world focuses on personality over policy, theatrics over reality and agendas ahead of fact...thus if they can create and manipulate a story and others pick up on it, so much the better. Faux has played this game for years and the rest of the herd follows cause they aren't interested in "news" as much as titilation and confrontation.
