Don't buy the GOP framing of the Bush tax cuts expiration.
This was a $1.35 TRILLION gift to Bush's base: the very wealthiest people in America.

It was unnecessary. It damaged our economy and our national security. It was a transparent transfer of wealth from the have-nots to the have-a-lots.

But, now, by the terms of the GOP's own legislation, it is set to EXPIRE!

When the Bush tax cuts expire, the tax rates simply revert to normal. In order to keep things the same for the millionaires and billionaires who always owned what passed for Bush's soul, we'd have to LOWER these taxes---AGAIN!

Simply deciding not to again lower taxes for the wealthy is hardly the equivalent of "raising taxes" and, in fact, the Democrats ARE
proposing to enact legislation to lower the taxes on families with income under $250,000 per year in order to keep them the same as they have been for several years.

If the Democrats can't hang this albatross around the necks of Mitch McConnell and John Boehner and the gang, they deserve to be defeated by the likes of Rand Paul and Sharon Angle.
