Possible scam by third party using DSCC to fraudulently obtain donations. Any Ideas?

I received an email that has all the appearance of being legitimate, and it may be legitimate, but in the solicitation for donations it had 'Fabric Swatches' in the email's subject line. This is a red flag to me that something isn't right and I can't see how anyone at the DSCC would be sending out emails with the subject line being wrong.

Has anyone else received a similar email or believe it is a fake? Contained within the email is a section to contribute to 'Fight the Lies'. It's signed by Paul Begala. If I click the link I have no idea where it would actually take me

There are so many internet scams and frauds I am very suspicious of this email and wonder who to contact to verify its legitimacy. And if it's not legitimate I want to report this attempt to extract money from my pockets.

Any help would be appreciated...

1. You need to show the headers of the email so it can be traced.

2. The DSCC itself is a fraud - I wouldn't give 'em a nickel
I got several emails from James Carville on behalf of the DSCC telling me why I should support Blanche Lincoln.

I don't want assholes like Carville deciding where my money goes, I would rather decide that myself. It sure as hell never would go to Blanche Effin Lincoln, I can tell you that.

IMO the DSCC is nothin more than an incumbency protection group and couldn't care less about true Democratic principles.

4. I sent Carville back a nasty email when the DSCC listed only Lee Fisher & not SOS Jennifer Brunner
as Democratic candidates prior to the OH primary. I told them to take us off their lists and I would never contribute to any organization associated w James Carville.

5. I agree but my issue was about possible fraud.
I've never given a penny to that organization and you described it perfectly. But I don't like it when I see any scammer try to get away with crimes. When a person donates money from an email solicitation they have no idea if it is a scam or not. My only goal was to find out how to report criminals who are trying to commit fraud.

6. Wasn't trying to be a smartass
I just have a visceral reaction to an organization that seems to be so consistently in support of corporate DINO type candidates.

And I don't necessarily want to see the DSCC destroyed by scammers, I would just like to see them change their focus.

7. I'd like them to be progressive instead of the same old democratic machine.
They usually tout only the corporate-owned candidates and not the progressives. I'm tired of political machines because they don't represent the people. They represent those in power.

Oh yeah, being a smartass is better than being a dumbass. :) No offense taken...
