Fox News ‘anti-feminist’ guest calls dating ‘legal prostitution’
This morning, Fox and Friends co-host Gretchen Carlson took on the issue of gender discrimination at bars in Minnesota, using as a touch-off point the banning of ladies night by the state's department of human rights, which cited gender equality as its primary motivation. Gender-based pricing, they said, is illegal under the Human Rights Act.

That happened in early June.

Cue Marc Rudov, a self-described anti-feminist and frequent guest on both Fox News and Fox Business. His take: ladies night at local bars is evil because "dating is legal prostitution" anyway.

Carlson appeared shocked. Her other guest -- Lis Wiehl, who frequently spars with Rudov during Fox appearances -- was not so much. Her response was rather dry: "Get a life."

7. No, not dating -- it's marriage that's legal prostitution.
So legalize it all, then strictly enforce laws against sexual harassment and rape, including marital rape.

10. Groan...
Marriage is not legal prostitution.

If you view it that way, then maybe that is what it has become to be in your house.

However, in my house, marriage is love built on mutual respect while building a life together (and, in our case, with children). Sexual relations are an extension of the love and mutual respect.

I can't imagine how anyone would ascertain that marriage is legal prostitution - what the hell are you paying with? Most women work and have their own money in this day and age, so it can't be the cash. Geesch.

9. Oh brother...
..."Ladies Nights" at bars is a worthy concern to the state's human rights department?

I'm S-U-R-E that means they've already taken on Minnesota's auto insurers to enforce charging the same rates for men and women drivers.

And leave it to Fox to spend time on this silly non-issue instead of trying to inform their viewers of anything substantial. Then again, with guests like these - it's probably best if they keep to worthless non-news like this. Some Fox viewer with half a brain might finally decide to turn their TV off.

11. Good point!
Can I get the state's human rights department to monitor dry cleaners so they won't charge women $10 to clean a shirt that's nearly the same as the one they charge men $2 to launder?

22. There's actually a good reason for this
I was appalled when taking my wife's shirts and sweaters to the cleaner's for the first time. Apparently they have standard size frames for common sizes, but for reasons which I can only speculate are derived from demand, they do not have frames small enough for women's shirts and sweaters, so they are hand pressed.

And no, I don't believe for a second that this is based on sexism. If the financial reward was worth the investment in the different frames, you can bet they would buy them and advertise same sex pricing. That's nature of business, particularly small businesses, which most dry cleaners are.

24. Soooo... they can't buy the frame things for women?
Women are more than 50 percent of the working population now... time to upgrade.

So, yes, there is sexism. They'll buy the male-sized frames for pressing, but not the smaller female size? Why?
