Moderators: Another money-making ad that does NOT belong on DU.
"Your retirement funds nationalized?

Obama's Treasury to force 401K and IRA accounts into government debt."

ETC, ETC.

1. Ironic, on this post there's a Pat Toomey ad that slams Joe Sestak
I don't think DU can filter ads ahead of time. Site admins must notify google (or whoever serves the ads) that they find the ads objectionable after the fact. I'd think DU would almost need a separate mod team to "tombstone" the ads that conservatrollsites run here.

I know because I've reported objectionable ads in the past, but hey, let the RW waste its money on us :)

3. It is not up to the moderators to determine what ads are on DU

Last I know of, you can block URLs in the ad network control panel (which I believe is AdSense for DU) but they appear randomly.

It'd really be up to Skinner or another person with access to DU's ad network to do it, although with AdSense money is only generated per click, so it does follow reason that the best ads for DU would be pro-Democratic ones.

4. Let 'Em Throw Their Money Away...
One would hope no one here who sees the ad (I don't) would ignore it. Meantime DU gets a couple of sheckles to keep this place going (especially for those who can afford to become members) and it's a couple of bucks that won't be spent on local TV or some other place that may have some effect.
