It's not important, it's just a couple of interesting coincidences...
Many years ago, the groom's grandmother, his mother's mother, came to my practice. She was a very highly regarded artist here in Philadelphia; she was a very bright lady who talked incessantly about her family of which she was quite proud. I happen to treat a fair number of local artists, three of whom are world-famous, and virtually everyone admired her art - unusual, since many of them are, IMO, inordinately condemning of each other. So it was a fair surprise to me that she was held in such high regard, almost universally. She was chronically ill, and talked to anyone who would listen about her condition and her symptoms. She was a good lady who was a terrific conversationalist and so very secure in her position.
Now, since I have to be careful, I will be deliberately vague: there is someone else in the family whom I also treated. I won't say much about this individual except that it was this person to whom I said, at our last visit together, "I would trade twenty so-called Philadelphia celebrities for one normal patient." This person may or may not be attending the wedding, I understand.
And I'm not referring to Steven Spielberg, although I have a Philly connection to him too, and a great story as well...Funny!
For another time...
