Could someone, anyone tell me why
Edited on Sun Aug-01-10 12:24 PM by malaise
all morning I've heard about Rangel and Waters, but not one of the so called liberal media hacks mentioned that Coburn handed over emails connected to the Ensign probe (to the Department of Justice - some 1200 pages to boot).
Bush and Cheney tortured with impunity but nary a word about them either.

1. Because it's more profitable for the media to extort favors from parties in power?
What are Ensign, Bush, or Cheney going to do for the media at this point?

3. Because apparently there is no market share in attacking white people?
This is what "over the cliff" looks like. We act like a cult. We listen to any bs from the "authorities" no matter how harmful it is to our own interests.

4. My sincere opinion is that it's an election year tactic by the Republicans

to attack the progressives in the Black Caucus to inject racism into the fray as a wedge issue. Their ploy is to make teabaggers angrier at blacks in high places which will bring them out in droves on election day.

To me it's really a no-brainer. They're coddling and courting the Angry White Man, known as the Tea Party, vote by making it look like black Congresspeople are corrupt.

And Newt Grinch is courting the Angry White Man vote against Muslims by claiming, as if it's an established fact, that they're trying to force Sharia Law on our nation.

McCain is courting the Angry White Man by clutching onto the jingoistic racial opportunity that the Mexicans are gonna take your jobs away.

It's electioneering as usual only stepped up to the nth degree because they really want their power back and nothing is beyond their capacity to use and they're desperate in these times of change.

This year has given them a plethora of hot divisive issues. Religious and racial extremes. How could they not grasp onto them?

6. The question is how did it happen. I agree that Republocans like to attack progressives during an
election year but we have an equal number of members and the chairmanship of the Ethics Committee so how did charges get to the floor?

7. Democrats greasing the skids? Not mysterious or surprising.
That seems to be the default position any more.

5. You know the answer to that.
But if we say it out loud, it looks like we're covering up for corruption.

Pretty nice gig they've got, huh? They can do this all day long.
