Chrysler workers skeptical about job security.

Now why would they be worried about their jobs? Could it be that being controlled by a private equity firm makes Chrysler a private corporation, thus allowing Cerberus to lay off massive amounts of workers?

Oh, and did I mention that Cerberus CEO, John Snow, was shrub's secretary of treasury? We all know how shrub feels about UAW workers.:tinfoilhat:

1. Yea what did Melencamp sing
"Hard Times for an Honest Man", may as well add in working man also. Bush Admin has done wonders for the Michigan economy hasn't it?

3. As well they should be
My crystal ball says that Chrysler will be restructured so the the long term pensions and healthcare liabilities get allocated to a portion of the company that will be allowed to die and the valuable assets, including the plants and the marque will go to a different portion. The workers there may be forced to choose between their jobs and the retirees, and will vote to protect their immediate families. The UAW may be dropped as well.

For those who believe that there will be union solidarity, I don't think it will hold up to that kind of onslaught. It will be well postured as "accept this or the company is gone and there will be nothing for anyone".

I don't like it, but that is where I think it is headed.
