If we could make clear the intentions of republicans, and lay bare their contempt for their fellow countrymen, they would never be elected again. Direct confrontation, and loud angry calling out might work, but liberals never raise their voices, or get angry. So says Gingrich and thugs. We buy it, and are blamed for the effects of the republican strictures. We have all the tools we need. God I hope someone wakes up. We are about to get snookered.

The call for states rights has been part of their shtick since Nixon won with his Southern Strategy of coded racism and states rights. The only President since Carter to reduce the size of the government was Bill Clinton, a classic conservative in the mold of Eisenhower.

And you might consider swapping out "roust" with "roost" in your title. States rights got out of bed with Articles of Confederation that operated until the Constitution was written.

Cheney played Bush like a fiddle and change the government, but he wasn't a genius.

Besides, all Republican are doing is borrowing what Antebellum Democrats did in the run up to the Civil War.

Also, they do not run the government as an institution that respects states rights. It is just a ploy to get back in power.
