Associated Press - May 15, 2007 7:24 AM ET

<snip>Dana Marie Kieser (KEE'-zur) is charged with forgery for allegedly stealing about $$25,000 from the retirement account of Staff Sergeant John Paul Kieser.

John Kieser contacted police from Iraq to report that his wife had sold their Maplewood house without his knowledge -- touching off a probe that led to the charges. Prosecutors say they don't have evidence that the transaction involving the house was illegal. snip

John Kieser's father says his son and his wife have had a strained relationship because they had been apart for so long.

1. Wouldn't it require a signature of both to sell the house?
Or would a power of attorney subvert that?

2. Or it may be protected under
the Soldiers and Sailors relief act. Normally we were protected from stuff like this under the old act but * amended this act in 2003 so who the fuk knows now?
