Update on stolen check card numbers

went to bank this morning. Could take up to 2 weeks to get my money back, but I should be getting it back. Went to sheriff's dept. to file report (I don't have a police dept) had to wait about a half hour for a deputy to get there. Changed my cell phone number too. Deputy suggested I get my social security number changed, but the SS office said it basically takes an act of god to get that done...seriously WTF...and suggested that I just keep an eye on my credit reports. Grrrrr. This has taken me since 9am this morning to accomplish all of this.

Off to notify credit reporting agencies.

my local grocery store had numbers lifted months ago and so did my bank. but both had said that our cards were not affected. could have been lifted from an on-line purchase even tho I use very secure sites to order from. So, honestly no clue. The bastards purchased air line tickets, and used them as well...so, hopefully they'll be caught.
