1. Why is Tom so damn good at his toons ?
He's like a Gary Larson or a Bill Watterson but very political.
I even enjoy his artwork

It must have been something we all took in college

3. It would be funny if it weren't so sad . . . and if it never worked for them . . .
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reality-based_community

The source of the term is a quotation in an October 17, 2004, New York Times Magazine article by writer Ron Suskind, quoting an unnamed aide to George W. Bush:

The aide said that guys like me were "in what we call the reality-based community," which he defined as people who "believe that solutions emerge from your judicious study of discernible reality." ... "That's not the way the world really works anymore," he continued. "We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality—judiciously, as you will — we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors…and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do."

See, people who talk like that . . . should either be in prison or locked up in a rubber room.

6. They should be
But instead, they run our country and make reality.

And in time, that reality replaces the real one.

"Who controls the past, controls the future; who controls the present, controls the past."

That he chose to use the "Doggie Diner" in his comic. Is he from San Francisco? We used to have a lot of Doggie Diners in this town. I remember seeing one near the SF Zoo, when I was younger..
