The Rude Pundit: No, Fuck You, Robert Gibbs
You gotta bet that White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs was so goddamned pleased with himself when, in an interview with The Hill, he got his nasty on about "the professional left." See how brave he is? Attacking the people from whom the President is supposed to have spawned? Yeah, you know that Gibbs got a little boner when he spat, "They will be satisfied when we have Canadian health care and we’ve eliminated the Pentagon. That’s not reality." "Oh," he must have thought, "how Rahm will scratch me behind my ears and laugh as I lick my balls." Such praise is rare these days. (Speaking as a relatively semi-pro leftist, Canadian health care? Sure. Eliminate the Pentagon? Not so much. Cut the Pentagon maybe to a square or a triangle? Sure.)

So, let's get this straight, Bobby G. We on the left warned your boss and the Democrats that every time you reached out your hands to the Republicans, those fuckers would just gnaw on 'em. But you kept on with the effort of bipartisanship, watering down bills and watering 'em down. Anyone with a lick of sense knew that the GOP was just setting you up: force 'em to compromise and then make sure that what gets passed does just a scintilla of what could have been done. On bill after bill these mad negotiations occurred, and now you're accusing us of not living in reality? No, really, truly, fuck you, man.

Gibbs also said, "I hear these people saying he’s like George Bush. Those people ought to be drug tested. I mean, it's crazy." You really wanna have this fight? 'Cause when's the last time you called the Tea Party delusional or "crazy." And here's a hint on how to prevent liberals from saying Barack Obama is like George W. Bush: stop acting like Bush. Howzabout an easy one: don't take the same cruel positions as the Bush administration in court cases that continued after Bush was out of office. Howzabout another easy one: do something without compromising, like order a halt to any effort to drum gay soldiers out of the military. Howzabout closing Gitmo, like the President promised endlessly on the campaign trail? Howzabout not saying you have the right to murder Americans abroad at will? Howzabout recess appointing everyone the Republicans are holding up? An aggressive stance towards the GOP ain't just about words, man. Words are worthless. It's action that matters

We on the left who paid attention didn't expect Barack Obama to be our big liberal buddy Christ. We did, however, take him at his word on a number of issues, like transparency, for instance. Instead, we're supposed to be grateful that bills with the names of items on the left-wing agenda got passed. Look at this big-ass new law. It says, "Health care." Ain't that cool?

Finally, fuck you, Mr. Press Secretariat, because you should be wooing the fuck out of us. You should be trying to get in our underwear and hand job us with a smile on your face instead of treating us like a convenient punching bag because you don't want to offend the precious "real America" or whatever bullshit phrase politicians want to use to isolate and alienate us. Why? Because we're the ones that made sure you are the Press Secretary.

Gibbs said, "They wouldn’t be satisfied if Dennis Kucinich was president." Do you really wanna go down that road, Bobby G?

I'd also like to know what Pelosi is saying -- she's had to complain to the

White House TWICE now about comments like this dissing Democrats in Congress!!!

She's given us a big clue as to what's really going on:

"Obama was for a lot of things when he was compaigning which he is no longer for!"

Every Democrat needs to set their BS meter much H I G H E R !!

They are like Democrats cast in the same mold Joe Lieberman was cast from. Which, I guess to some Democrats, is a good thing. Even though Joe eventually left the party when he didn't get his way.

Well, I'm not sure if Dennis Kucinich will ever be President. But Howard Dean would have been president, if not for a full on slanderous DLC assault on him led by one Robert "the lost Bee Gee" Gibbs.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V1DqOwP3Xzc

And yeah Gibbs, I'd be pretty satisfied in year 6 of a Dean presidency right now, you treasonous asshole :grr:

but this says by "Americans for jobs, health care and progressive values"!!!

This was the DLC?

I did hear it was the DLC -- and very little Democratic Party rebuttal --

it looked like a "triangulation" -- !!!

Well, of course, now I know that Obama is a "New Democrat" -- never heard him

say that cause I sure as hell wouldn't have voted for him!!

Kerry was a 3% favorite across the country -- TPB moved out a liberal/progressive

to put another failed candidate in place!!

Before that we had the fake Gore/Liberman duo - Imagine had Lieberman reached the VP!!

I,too, would have been greatly satisfied with a Dean presidency --

my son gave a lot of money to that campaign and won't vote any longer --

Wonder why?

We have to get rid of this "New Democrat" and "DLC corporate cancer" INSIDE THE

DEMOCRATIC PARTY . . . IF we expect to progress -- and break this downward spiral which

Obama is pushing!!

Next stop -- Obama attacks Social Security and Medicare!!

It doesn't look to me like Obama even wants the freakin' job. Certainly his family sure wouldn't mind going back to Chicago.
Why don't they just admit it and let what's left of the Democratic party find a candidate who actually wants the job, not just the title.
Alieniating a significant portion of their support isn't going to get it done in 2012.
I'm all over cretin Rick Scott in Florida advocating drug testing for welfare recipients (so now we can have addicted broken people in the streets!); now the Press Sec of the Pres I voted for wants to drug test me! Piss on you, Gibbs - here's your drug test right here.

26. You really wanna go down that road?
Mr. Gibbs, we're Democrats. We deal with reality. Yes, Republicans have it easier. They can say one thing on Monday, something completely different Tuesday, deny any contradiction on Wednesday, be praised for their bold stance on Thursday, and pick up a fat contribution from the people they just screwed on Friday. Democrats aren't built that way. We elected your boss to do what he said he was going to do. But what we've seen instead is endless pandering and compromise with the people we turned out of office and put in the minority. Then those same Republicans, after neutering every legislative proposal, immediately turn around and give your boss shit for being a socialist for the thin broth that eventually got passed.

It's three months until the mid-terms. Shouldn't you be trying to curry a little favor from your base? You haven't built much of a record. Implying we're on drugs because we remember the promises you haven't kept doesn't really motivate us. Yanno?

a top administration official has given them the greatest gift they could ever receive. It is obvious now that Obama is way out of his league,he will be a one term President and Gibb's comments has nearly guaranteed a Republican victory in 2012..But he dont care ..he could easily step into the same role in a republican administration.

49. Hell yeah, K & R!
The Rs hate Obama. Hate. All they care about is money/power: how to acquire it, how to wield it, how to keep it. PERIOD. Nothing else enters in to their political calculations. Nothing.

The Rs are animals. Based on their actions and words, they haven't earned either respect or deferential treatment - in any way.

Does the White House understand this? I'm starting to think that they don't. And thanks for the silly straw-man arguments, Bobby. How many times can this jackass keep putting his "professional left" foot in his pie-hole?

Thanks for saying what needed to said, Rude.

53. If Kucinich was President, would we have had to deal with these continued Bush policies????
Guantanamo Bay: Still open
PATRIOT Act: Still in force and still used, in fact, even moreso according to some articles I've read
Wall St coddling: Still in effect. Obama tossed aside people like Reich and sidled up with Bank of America execs that he put in his top economic spots
Corporatism: Health care "reform" that is a boon to private insurers (who helped craft the legislation). Wall St "reform" that barely registered as a slap on the wrist (again, big banks and top execs helped craft it and it was watered down to cater to the GOP)
Treatment of gays: DADT still in force, President stated again the other day he's against same-sex marriages (he's fine with "civil unions" or somesuch...nice attempt at nuance there.
Wars: Afghanistan has been escalated. Still wasting billions in Iraq.

233. Not likely. Kucinich would have used the power of the bully pulpit to rally the people
to the common sense of Liberal politics for America. He was the single biggest threat to the corporate interests, and that is why he was never given even an inch of room to discuss with America his ideals. Rather, when he was allowed to speak, it was only to defend himself against nonsensical accusations from the right.

And look what happened to Dean.

There is just no way the Establishment (the corporate-owned GOP and most of the Dems) will allow an "outsider", a pragmatist, to enter the hallowed halls of the White House.

75. "Look at this big-ass new law. It says, "Health care." Ain't that cool?"
That's exactly it. When bush wanted to convince the world that invading Iraq was what was best for Iraq instead of what was best for bushco, he named it Operation Iraqi Freedom. See, it's got the word freedom in it, so you know it has to be good. We all saw through that. But because President Obama called a bill "health care," it winds up on those "Here's all the brilliant stuff the great and mighty God Obama passed that no one else never ever has done before" lists.

This guy nailed it. Here's what pisses me off about what Gibbs said, and about the attitudes of a handful of people on this board. It isn't about Dennis Kucinich or about progressive or professional left or what ever other noun they want to turn into an insult. I didn't support Kucinich. I voted for Clinton. I don't hate the DLC--some of what they do, sure, but not as the boogieman others make them out to be. I love capitalism. I think corporations can be controlled, rather than eliminated. I loved President Clinton--best damn leader this nation has had since FDR, and despite claims to the contrary, he moved us further to the left than anyone since FDR. Hell, I've never even smoked pot or sipped a latte, and I'm not even sure what the Hell a Birckenstock is, though I think it's a shoe.

I'm getting sick of the labels and name calling and assumptions. I understand pragmatism, I understand compromise, I even understand giving up some of your ideals to get into power in order to accomplish a greater goal. LBJ, for instance, was a master of that, and it got Civil Rights passed. Sometimes that's the best way to move the nation forward, and I'm all for that. But Obama gives away too much. His health care bill is one sided (though it's not a complete failure). The troops aren't coming home. The greater goals are not being achieved, and too often the minority party, the one out of power, is getting more of what they want than we are getting of what we want, even though we won the election.

What's going to happen after November, when our control is smaller, or gone altogether? How much is he going to give up then? He can't even overcome a couple of votes to stop a filibuster, how is he can to handle it if they get a majority? (And yes, despite the fact that the legislator passes laws and the president does not control it, every single successful president we've ever had has worked Congress to get what he wants, so why should Obama be held to lower standards than, say, LBJ?).

I support President Obama. I'm not saying I won't vote for him, in the general at least. Voting Republican (and that means not voting or voting for a third option--don't pretend it's different) is not an option. I will continue to support the Democrats. I haven't liked everything the Democrats have ever done, but I can say unequivocally that every single thing that has made me proud to be an American done during my lifetime was done by a Democrat. That's the party I'll vote for, even if I'm disappointed in the opportunities we've missed.

But Mr. Gibbs, fuck you if you think I'll shut up about it.

every time Dems quarrel. But what makes you think the Left's not welcome in the "Dem" tent? A quarrel does not make that true.

But a lot of people on DU seem not to welcome DLC in the Dem tent. Opposing DLC-ers in primaries is ok, but once the Dem candidate is chosen, every Dem should support him/her.

236. The only ones ever seeding "doubt" about a DLC Dem in the WH was
the DLC themselves. They achieve the most gains when they operate in the shadows. Just inmply you're not DLC and campaign using lots of populist talk. DLC New Dem SOP = campaign left, govern right.

"The Devil's greatest trick was convincing people that he didn't exist". Putting aside the fundagelical implications of the literal interpretation of that statement, it fits the devils who have infiltrated the Democratic party perfectly. :evilfrown:

119. K & definitely R! Open letter to Robert Gibbs...
Mr. Gibbs----I've been fiscally conservative but socially liberal for 65-years. In 2000, I was shocked that the Democratic Party did little to fight back before the SCOTUS made their evil ruling. In 2002, I was dismayed with the Democratic Party. In 2004, I finally admitted to myself that there were very few real Democrats left and even fewer true Republicans.

I stopped voting for any Republican in 2002, no matter how much I thought they'd be better than the Democrat on the ticket, and began voting straight Democrat. But by 2004, I had seen enough handwriting on the wall from my party and left to become an Independent, knowing full well that I'd have to put up with Republicans mailing me enough garbage to fill a landfill. Just a little protest that only I cared about, I am still a democrat at heart and couldn't wait to vote for Mr. Obama and make him President Obama.

Now I see from your words that my vote was and is apparently unwanted. Fine with me, I'll be happy to vote for a viable 3rd party candidate in 2012 and help you spend more time with your family. When you talk like and act like a Republican you don't deserve my vote, my husband's, my father's, my children's, etc.

When there's only one party with two names, it's time for us to start a new party. And there are a lot of us, we got Obama elected after all. So we can get someone else elected, if you keep insisting...someone who will look out for the people...you know, like Obama promised. No, we didn't expect him to perform miracles, all we wanted was someone with a spine to take a stand and be a strong Democrat. We haven't seen very much of that yet.

Sincerely,
One-pissed-off-independent-democrat

corporatists. They do not reach out their hand to watch it get bitten off, They put it out there to grandstand. Kabuki style; So well prepared corporatists, both Democrat and Republican, can rewrite the bill in their own selfish image; And in back rooms, water down the grandstanding he needs talk, to keep the farce that he is a democrat, rather than a suckup corporatist, who is not working for the people; To make sure no real help for the folks out there gets passed.

Show me any bigshots, or corporations, damaged by any of these wonderous bills; Pretending to regulate these obscenly bloated boondoggles that are blood sucking the life out of this country.

This is the kind of farce Kabuki theater was created to address; So he can say in the best kabuki pose, look how hard I tried; While behind the mask, and behind the curtain, satisfied, that all benefits go to corporations but, through amateur slight of hand, is without the chains; And machinations of his secret backroom deals, where the bills are written and where his nod is given; All given to those same corporations sucking us dry and at whose alter he and corporatists grovel.

If any disagree; Name the legislation that truly benefited the people of this country at the expense of corporation theft; And don't trot out Stem cell, a forgone conclusion tht too is a windfall for corporations. Show me any legislation that damaged a corporation's ability to steal;

Not just the few, trotted out for dumb show and noise, that are, at the end of the day, held by that fragile strings of life, held up to pull a tear; For the inevitable and exorbitant extortion in the fine print; To be paid by the people of this country so that corporations not lose of penny of their extortion; that we, out of human decency, for these dire circumstances will pay through the nose.

On top of the unbridled doubling and tripling of premiums, now forced by law, be paid; Whose only alternative is accepting a "tier" that essentially provides bandaids and crutches if you have the money to pay for them.

Show me the even handed justice that would put these wall street thugs and war criminals whose crimes are well and mountainously documented; In dungeons so deep their eyes, like those of newts, disappear; Or show me any justice at all, for that matter, for any CEO's or proven war criminals and their cronies.

Show an incredulous world, who must come to the conclusion that, we the people, elect these kinds of people who are no more than dangerous loose cannons to world peace; Hypocrites, for whom death is life, war is sacrosanct and holding the world and its own people hostage to a one sided economy; To entirely different standards of draconian law; Entirely different than that applied to itself and its cronies,

Prove to me we are not living in a system of crony justice whose only outcome can and will be authoritarian rule; Whose sweat and backbreake, will be extorted for the few; A crooked system that can go in only one direction, toward a feudal fascism.

This president needs to look into a mirror without the crack that smoke provides.

This president et al, thinks we are indeed, nothing but a bunch of drooling fools that can be played over and over; When it is themselves they should be putting under the lens of nothing harder than common sense.

128. And how is that exactly?
Making law involves compromise--a LOT of it. FDR, Kennedy, and Johnson all knew that. Fortunately, FDR and Johnson had so many Democrats that they really didn't need to talk to any opposition--but even FDR's coalition involved placating Southern racists so they wouldn't hold his domestic agenda hostage.

And since even the teeny-tiniest amount of dialogue with anyone who does not agree with you (and I'm not even talking about Republicans...I'm talking about the Blue Dogs) makes you so angry you poop blood, I know for a fact that if Dennis Kucinich was President your crowd would fucking HATE him.

Gibbs should be out there reminding us of the many things the Obama administration has accomplished, not trashing the millions who hoped for a pragmatic, very effective Democratic block to support our need for a 21st Century FDR.

He should have listened to Van Jones' speech to the Netroots a few more times. Yes, you are heartbroken, but don't give up now.

Edited to add-- No I would not be complaining about Kucinich as president. He would have pushed his hardest for Medicare for All, especially with the millions suffering evictions and bankruptcy after the Bush Crashes-- economic and moral.

by NearlySomebody

Wish I could write something in anger and disgust EVERY morning at 2AM then wake up at 7 and have my wife tell me I am on the rec list. Glad you all find this useful. I am just sick and tired of pussyfooting around HOW WE GOT INTO THIS MESS. For those of you who object to the salty language, my apologies. Please take it out, rinse and repeat. For those of you who asked about how it will affect my relationship with my family, worry not. My family, though politically divided, is big on love and understanding of each other. I have an awesome family. For those who asked if they could use parts of it, by all means, take it away.
For the past few years I have been getting email forwards from my dad. He always asks if they are true, and I always do a little bit of research and debunk them. And that was ok, if annoying. But I finally sent the email I have been fearing I would, and now I wonder about the repercussions.
• NearlySomebody's diary :: ::

The email came to my box with the note, "This will probably piss you off..."
Thanks for sending it then; I really love to be pissed off.
The video was some asshat out in Vegas who runs a casino and wants to tell us how badly the American government has failed...and of course, the usual suspects from my dad's email circle all had to chime in and say how right he was and how bad Obama is, etc... ad nauseum... So I replied...
So let me get this straight, the great recession is government's fault, the uncertainty of the American business climate is government's fault, the fact that we are pissing away 12 billion a month in an illegal war for no good reason other than to make money for oil companies is Obama's fault, the fact that when Bush took over we had a record budget surplus and in his 8 years he LOST net jobs (as compared to population growth) and ended up with more deficit in 8 years than we had had in the previous 200...and somehow this is Obama's fault? Jesus Christ. If you sat through the last 8 years and watched the Constitution shredded, our treasure wasted on a war we were LIED into, and the wages and wealth inequity gap get just as big as it was before the Great Depression and then you get mad at liberals, there ain't much I can do for you.
But for starters, what do YOU THINK is going to happen when the top 1% own 33% of everything in America and the top 10% own approximately 65% of it? Who is left to buy all the useless shit that we have to consume just to prop up the economy? Through the combination of union busting, outsourcing, and the ever-shifting tax burden from the rich to the middle class over the last 30 years, the middle class has had to borrow money for the last 3 decades to keep up with the cost of living. Inflation outpaced job earnings over the last 30 years. Think about that. If you don't see that there have been systematic problems in the country for almost as long as I have been alive, you need to start paying attention. They engineered policy to keep interest rates low to make it cheap to borrow money, and that's how we ran America...that's how we HAD to run America because working people were not making enough to make ends meet. So we borrowed and borrowed and borrowed. And then the bill came due. Hey, this is kind of funny! Did you know that Bush raised the debt ceiling 7 times while he was in office? That's like...almost every year he was in office, right? And you want more of that?
So to recap, Bush financed two wars on a credit card by selling debt to China...and NOW you are pissed off about government spending? Bush LOST net jobs...and NOW you are pissed off about jobs? Bush and the republican congress drove the car into the ditch and Obama tried to pull it out, and NOW you're mad? Now? You sleep-walk through the destruction of habeas corpus, through tax dollars spent on torturing people, through illegal and unconstitutional wire-tapping of America citizens, (and this shit is still happening because now it is JUST THE WAY WE DO THINGS HERE. THANKS!) through illegally outing an American spy for a political grudge, through the deregulatory enabling of Enron, Worldcom, and the shredding of Glass-Steagall (when they did the same thing with savings and loans we got the S&L implosion of the 80s...so we deregulated banks and got the banking implosion of the aughts. Which part of that is difficult to understand?) Your email circle slept through all of that, and NOW they get mad. Unfuckingbelievable.
Here, have some fun facts about wages in America: http://www.businessinsider.com/... Look through the slide show and tell me what you see. Rich getting richer, everyone else getting poorer.
Now some dipshit who owns a casino is going to lecture me about financial responsibility? A casino owner is going to lecture me about the proper use of my money? Really? Some asshole who is moving his corporate headquarters to China so he won't have to pay any taxes to America, a system whose government-subsidized roads and airlines supply him with an endless supply of morons who will gamble away their money at his resort? Give. Me. A. Break. If it were not for federal and state money supplying them with water, do you think they could even live out there in the FUCKING DESERT? Fuck him.
The reason we have an oil spill in the gulf, the reason the economy collapsed, and the reason we have wasted so much money in Iraq (did they find those WMDs yet?) is because government did NOT do its requisite job of oversight and regulation. The market is not rational...PEOPLE are rational. That is, if you are the guy who realizes that he can rip people off for billions of dollars and not get in trouble for it, you will, every single time. That is a cold, rational decision, the products of which we are suffering through right now. When you give regulators jobs to "regulate" and then tell them sort of tacitly that the market is infallible and that they should not interfere, you get this: http://www.dailytech.com/... People making 200k a year (paid by taxpayers) to watch porn in their offices instead of doing their jobs. Then, the failsafe for republicans is they can turn around and say, "See! Government doesn't work!" Right, because those assholes are systematically trying to destroy it. You drive the economy into a ditch we have not seen since 1930, and then you bitch about Obama spending tax money to try to fix it? Where is the disconnect here exactly? Do you think McCain would have done a better job? Sarah Palin? For fuck's sake, if she is our savior we're in big trouble (even though she does read ALL OF THE MAGAZINES). Drill baby drill? That's your platform? HA! Then Bobby Jindal is going to bitch because the federal government is not helping them enough? Just drill some more and remember when you said this: "We oppose the national Democratic view that says the way to strengthen our country is to increase dependence on government. We believe the way to strengthen our country is to restrain spending in Washington, to empower individuals and small businesses to grow our economy and create jobs." Yeah, Bobby, this is deregulation come home to roost. Suck it.
Then to cap it all off, every email forward your friends have sent in the last 8 years has been false. (Remember, these are the "rational" republicans, not the naive and emotional democrats!) I mean, republicans are entitled to their own opinions, but not their own realities. Everything that you guys are passing around and getting all worked up about is, you know, pretty much a lie created specifically to manipulate you into being angry.
Do I seem pissed? I have to tell you, it is not just because of some douchebag casino owner. It is because there seems to be two kinds of people in America: people who try to make America better for the greatest number of people on one side and people who lie, deny scientific evidence, and try to kill you for being a democrat on the other. In case Fox hasn't been covering it, there was yet another murderous patriot last week on the hunt for liberals. He was going to go shoot up the ACLU in San Francisco because Glenn Beck put it in his mind to. He was going to go kill liberals...liberals like me. And every time your friends fire off another email full of lies, the world gets a little less safe for people like me. And that is why I am pissed.
There, rant done.

“Gibbs did a stupid thing, he should have known better, but he told the truth. And those who actually read all his comments know that he was NOT talking about the grassroots, about people who worked hard to get Barack Obama elected, not to mention the 90% approval he's got among Liberals - it's a bad spin - he talked about the same people Michael Moore once called "The Professional Left", those who makes very good money from their job as "Lefties", regardless the reality, regardless the damage they inflict.
It's about joining the Right Wing in creating a narrative of failure around a very good Liberal president. It's just amazing. In 18 months of some of the most toxic political environment in history, the man did more to promote the progressive cause than anyone but two other presidents, and he's "Like Bush"?
You can't just criticize him ALL THE TIME, never have his back, and then insist that it's about keeping his feet on fire. No one except Rachel Maddow even bother to mention most of the great progressive stuff that he has done. There's a whole new criteria for this president - Do twice the job for half the credit.
When the most Liberal president in decades is labeled as "Bush" 24/7 by the "Liberal media", when Right Wing talking points being used as weapon against him from the left - then it doesn't matter much who will win this November. Or in 2012 – and i'm almost ready to bet that it won't be Barack Obama, that he'll take the family and go home. I'm pretty sure that Bill Maher can win the election.”
The right wing must be very happy at the reaction of the left; welcome to the tea-baggers wagon US lefties! We sure deserve all the shit that we get from the “right”!

207. This fucking retarded Professional Liberal who has lived in Canada and loves their health care
Edited on Wed Aug-11-10 01:18 AM by flyarm
and knows no person is discriminated against and all Canadian citizens can get the care they need as a human right!! This Liberal Professional has seen many Americans go to Canada with their children because they can not get health care for their children in the USA,Before during or after being sold out to the Hosptial conglomerates, and Big Pharma and the insurance corps!

This Liberal Professional has never done drugs ( damn I wish I had known I would get accused of doing so, maybe then I would have tried it!) because my job since age 19 was to be responsible for people's lives and safety! I took those responsibilities very seriously Mr Gibbs, perhaps you could learn something from me and others who worked by my side for 33 years??!!

This professional Liberal has educated her child, and raised him to be a responsible human being, compassionate for others,Put him through university, and now through His MBA in the 3rd hardest school in the nation!

This professional liberal has never taken a dime from anyone! This professional Liberal worked and saved for my kids education and never took a damn dime for his education , because I saved and did without things and sacrificed to edcuate my child!

This professional Liberal did not have to get money from a criminal who today sits in prison to buy any of my homes ! I saved for my homes, I have spent a lifetime paying my bills on time, I never bought anything More than I couldn't afford! Perhaps Mr Gibbs you should look to your boss for his irresponsibility in that regard! Or greed.

I lost a home in an earthquake Mr. Gibbs and everything I and my husband worked a lifetime for , we didn't bitch or moan, we pulled up our boots, and we started all over again..with nothing! We slept in our back yard on mattresses for 3 months and shit and piss in buckets for 3 months, but I never took a dime from anyone..we just started over again! It made us only stronger as human beings. It was tough Mr Gibbs, but we survived and we learned values you will never know!

Mr Gibbs My husband and I have worked for everything we have ever had. or will have. We pay our taxes on time and all our bills on time...and never bitch about it..it is our duty to this nation for what we have!

Mr Gibbs..I owe nothing to anyone.

I have never rubbed elbows with criminals or thugs. Something your boss can not say! And I would have never thought of taking money from a crook to buy any of my homes..or even a beer!

I have been elected in My state by democrats, I represented them with all my heart and soul and respected each and every citizen I represented.

I have worked for and with the democratic party for most of my adult life in many many facets. That would be for 40 years.

I happen to think Mr Gibbs the wrong man is sitting in MY WHITE HOUSE and I believe Dennis Kucinich would represent me better, and would respect me more and respect my Constitution the way it is written and not sell it out to the highest corporate bidder! I believe Dennis would CARE about my Democratic values and prinicples and would represent My Nation more honestly!

Today Mr Gibbs, You make me ashamed to be a democrat!

Today Mr Gibbs, you can go fuck yourself!

From a Proud Professional Liberal...I will wear your label like a badge of honor..that is more than anyone could say about your Honor Mr Gibbs!

Thank You Rude Pundit!

But so much of the anger seems to be "How dare they get mad at me (for getting mad at them)" Obama was elected to be your president. Not your personal savior. He has kept more campaign promises than any president in years. People who thought that it would be "hip" to support a Black candidate just because he is a Black candidate have discovered that Blacks are not all MLK Jr. Makes me wonder how many of Obama's supporters were on his side because they did not actually know any Black folks and were trying to atone.

BTW, remember "Monster". You elected a guy whose advisor called a major Democratic contender a "monster". You expected them to be all mealy mouthed once they got the job?

http://open.salon.com/blog/kevin_gosztola/2009/05/14/obama_employs_bush_administration_tactic_blocks_photos

Excerpt:

On Wednesday, Obama said he “would try to block the court-ordered release of photos showing U.S. troops abusing prisoners.” The release, which was to be the result of a Freedom of Information Act request made by the ACLU, had been reasonable in the final weeks of April, but today, Obama chose to come out against the release.

According to the Associated Press, “out of concern the pictures would "further inflame anti-American opinion" and endanger U.S. forces in Iraq and Afghanistan” Obama planned to block them.

Obama intends to block the release of the photos because they may negatively impact American empire and American military adventures in Afghanistan and Iraq. Gen. Ray Odierno, a prime architect of “the surge” in Iraq, and Gen. David Petraeus influenced Obama’s decision after informing the administration that they were afraid the photos will “cost American lives.”

Obama suggested that the “photos had already served their purpose in investigations of "a small number of individuals” and "the individuals who were involved have been identified, and appropriate actions have been taken."

Also, Obama made the argument that "these photos that were requested in this case are not particularly sensational, especially when compared to the painful images that we remember from Abu Ghraib."

When choosing to make a “mockery” out of his “promise of transparency and accountability” (as one member of the ACLU put it), Obama is fine with contending that if information requested does not show something worse than said previous atrocity or does not show that something more inhumane happened the information should not be released.

Isn't it nice to have 99% of DU aligned on an issue again? :D

262. Team Obama didn't "water down bills" to please Republicans.
They've pushed through exactly the legislation they wanted-- Wall Street first, hand-outs for the weatlthy. Saving corrupt industries from themselves by institutionalizing them was their goal, not a compromise.

I understand the rant, but that little point always jumps out at me.

So a kick for His Rudeness. Rude has a regular spot on Stephanie Miller - could it be tomorrow? He's great on her show, too.

Agree with everyone who took offense at his backhand slap at Kucinich, too.

Just finished reading "The Bridge" by David Remnick about the rise of Barack Obama - have to say it left a bad taste in my mouth and a sick feeling in my stomach.
