We're like one giant dysfunctional family...
I somehow missed Gibb's comments, don't worry though, Du filled me in. :-)

Here's the way I see it, being a Democrat means being part of a family. Families don't always agree on everything. Quite often things are said and done in the heat of the moment, or when the frustration level has reached an "oh God please don't let my head explode" level.

We fight at family gatherings, throw mashed taters at each other and sometimes say hurtful things. BUT somehow we manage to come together in a time of crisis.

I have a very large family, and yes often we're dysfunctional, but the bottom line is ALWAYS we're there for each other.

That's how I see being part of the Democratic family. Sometimes I get so angry I could spit nails, sometimes I'm luke warm, other times I'm happy as a pig in mud.

We're NOT Republicans, we all think differently, we don't walk lock step, and that's ok. But I'll be damned if I'm going to let "outsiders' use my anger to exploit my family and use it for their gains.

Being part of a family is hard work. I'm not afraid of hard work, I'll continue to work hard for my family.

Peace.

1. We're a Happy Family
We're a happy family
We're a happy family
We're a happy family
Me mom and dad
( 2X )

Sitting here in Queens
Eating refried beans
We're in all the magazines
Gulpin' down thorazines

We ain't got no friends
Our troubles never end
No Christmas cards to send
Daddy likes men

Daddy's telling lies
Baby's eating flies
Mommy's on pills
Baby's got the chills

I'm friends with the President
I'm friends with the Pope
We're all making fortunes
Selling Daddy's dope

Sitting here in Queens
Eating refried beans
We're in all the magazines
Gulpin' down thorazines

We ain't got no friends
Our troubles never end
No Christmas cards to send
Daddy likes men

We're a happy family
We're a happy family
We're a happy family
Me mom and dad
( 10X )

Lyrics by Joey Ramone.

3. but the WH is NOT "there for us" or looking out for us
Edited on Tue Aug-10-10 04:24 PM by MisterP
they're hog-tying 80% of the country and delivering us up to the corporate vampires we were so eager to denounce Jan. 20, 2001-Jan. 19, 2009

they're not "on our side"

they're not "fighting for us"

THAT's why everyone to the left of Francisco Franco is angry--not because we're some big cornily-imagined family that can't help but fight but deep down loves each other; they dropped a corn-kernel-studded turd on our plates and said, "Why are you bitching? Corn is good for you."

5. The problem is that the competing "family" is named Stepford
and they have most of the money & they own the newspapers, radio stations, the banks, the places we work, and about everything else.
