I'm glad Gibbs said what he did because it shines a light on three facts:
  1. President Obama is not George Bush.

  2. Criticism alone is not a motivator.

  3. Progressives still need to push for change.

Everyone should watch Elizabeth Warren's Netroots Nation speech

2. I agree
His comments made me somewhat angry -- however it's forcing some important issues into the spotlight that otherwise might remain in the dark.

Maybe not what Gibbs intended; but it's out there now.

3. Boy Did It Get Some People All Thrown Into An Hilarious, Hypocritical Tizzy!!

I love how it highlights the astounding hypocrisy. "Labeling, slurs and "criticism" is fine and dandy, as long as it's not aimed at me!"

Between this whine fest and the news that Warren is getting the nod, I think I'm in irony heaven.

4. really sad that we must use george bush
as a measure of comparison.

youd be hard pressed to find anyone who could be as awful of a CandC as that guy.

a f'in penguin with specticles and a top hat is more intellectually capable of running a country.

anybody is/was better than george bush. lol.

While Obama's done almost nothing to end Bush's Constitution-shredding policy innovations, he's not added new outrages that I know of.

9. Just what "resources" do the Dems need to be more progressive? They have a majority in both houses

and the presidency? They should be able to do more. Start revoking committee memberships, board memberships, etc for those like Nelson and Lincoln who won't budge. If they still won't budge, let them know they will be cut off from the war chest when election time rolls around. Thats what the GOP does...

If the president really cared about progressive issues, he could also use the bully pulpit to pressure Congress to do the right thing. But he doesn't.

10. 1. Who said he was?
2. It may get Warren named to head CEPB, despite what the administration actually wants to do.

3. With a lead pipe and brass knuckles, as far as I can tell.
