FCC Highly Skeptical of Google/Verizon Proposal
STATEMENT OF COMMISSIONER MICHAEL J. COPPS
ON VERIZON-GOOGLE ANNOUNCEMENT

“Some will claim this announcement moves the discussion forward. That’s one of its many problems. It is time to move a decision forward—a decision to reassert FCC authority over broadband telecommunications, to guarantee an open Internet now and forever, and to put the interests of consumers in front of the interests of giant corporations.”

A very brief statement that calls bullshit on Google/Verizon and moves for an actual open Internet and not the cutting up and privatization of bandwidth as these two giant corporations have called for.

1. Good. So they need to make a decision vs. us just hearing
from google/verizon. I know, it's not that simple. So we wait for something definitive from the FCC.

3. Good. Let's hope they don't cave like most agencies do these days.
