NFL player marries his stalker
KANSAS CITY, Missouri - Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Chris Chambers recently married a woman he accused of stalking him.

According to several online reports Chambers married Stacey Bernice Saunders in Las Vegas on July 24, 2010.

In December of 2009, Saunders faced 11 counts of stalking and harassing Chambers, his wife, mother and sister.

According to the San Diego Union-Tribune Chambers said Saunders was “abusive, vulgar and irrational” to he and his family in phone calls, text messages and emails.

" the way it sounds he was having an affair with the "stalker" and she got pissed cause he didn't leave his wife soon enough and he lied to the courts too. We really get some winners don't we?" (this was a reply from the original article)

Feel bad, he was a UW Madison alumn.....d*mn.

dude needs domestic violence counseling asap....he wasn't stalked because she "loves" him, he was stalked because she's an abuser.

10. Um, did anyone read the damn story?
After the citations in the OP's post, we get to this:

When neither Chambers nor Saunders showed up for the court hearing on the issue the charges were dropped.

A week later citing “irreconcilable differences” he filed for divorce from his then-wife.

Sounds to me like he only filed charges to keep his wife from divorcing his ass while he cheated.

Sorry, Chris... FAIL!!!

16. And so is marrying your alleged stalker.
Staying married... sure... there's a different dichotomy, but not showing up to court - as a man being chased by a woman - and then marrying her? Uh... I smell bullshit.

He was sleeping with her, wife found out from the numerous phone calls, dude says she's a stalker and makes a charge, wife figures it out anyway, wife leaves, dude get his just desserts.

Seriously... y'all really think this guy married his "stalker?" I thought only the Freeps were that naive.

17. Might want to actually do some research into the dynamics of DV relationships
Women marry abusive boyfriends all.the.time. They call the police, apply for protective orders/press charges, then not show up to court all the time too. It's not so beyond the pale to think that a male victim of DV would do the same.

14. That's sort of my story with my first wife. It wasn't called stalking in
those days, though. She just followed me around a lot. I mean a lot. More like a puppy dog, maybe.
And it aggravated me for a long time, and I tried to get her to stop, a lot, in several different ways. It didn't work.
So finally she said if I wanted her to stop, she would. She did.
I was like a junkie without his fix. I realized it wasn't that bad. I mean, she was female, well built, and cute as a bunny.
So why not.
I knew it wouldn't last forever, but for the while it did last, it was kinda good.

18. Maybe she was just a defensive back covering him like a blanket?
This part is prototypical of a modern DB in the NFL:

Saunders was “abusive, vulgar and irrational”

Next on Jerry!

21. OK, I know it's just me, but...
Saunders was “abusive, vulgar and irrational” to HE

He.... really. I mean, really. Doesn't everyone understand that that is SO WRONG?

She writes for a living; how does she not see that?

I seriously hope that this "shotgun wedding" doesn't end up like that. :(
