Operation New Dawn...
Kinda makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside....

A little more cheery than, Operation 4414 US Soldiers Killed and 31882 Wounded All For a Few Bucks

oh wait, I forgot about Saudis with boxcutters defeating NORAD and WMD's....

Nevermind, return to the Happy Happy because now 50,000 of them are called "support personnel" instead of "combat troops" after today.

1. I just don't understand how some of you can't even be happy for the troops
that ARE coming home.

Just because we're celebrating a step in the right direction doesn't mean we're not aware of how many troops were killed, how we were lied to, how this isn't the end to our problems - do you think you're the only one who gets it?

If Bush were still in office, or McCain, we wouldn't have seen the last Stryker Brigade pass through those gates into Kuwait today. But I guess that's nothing to be grateful for.

4. How many are actually coming home, and how many are just
going to be sent to Afghanistan instead?

6. I of course don't have the answer to that, but the troops Richard Engel were
talking to were coming HOME.

5. Iraq had nothing to do with 911 and was never justified
I still believe Afghanistan/Pakistan needed to be dealt with. Not saying I would ever want Bush and Cheney and Rumsfeld involved in it.

Al Qaeda attacked more than just the twin towers.

12. And then Bush and Cheney and Rumfeld kept attacking us with the scare tactics
and drumming on how vulnerable we were as they took advantage of this "opportunity" to use it as the perfect excuse to get to that oil in Iraq.

I think if a saner head had been at the helm, say Biden or Obama, we'd be living in a much different world today.

21. Yes, they exposed the fiction we had going
that our government took care of us. That is what is really unforgivable.

14. A simple reminder...
that ALL troops are essentially COMBAT TROOPS. So a few are coming home...how many are left in place, how many mercenaries are left in place, and will this remainder be under constant attack?

This 'good' news sounds and smells like more smoke and mirrors.

18. "So a few are coming home"
Please!

When Obama took office on Jan 20, 2009 there were 140,000 troops in Iraq.

Now, thanks to Obama, there just a little over 50,000.

That's 90,000 fewer troops in 18 months time.

And you have the gall to call that a "few?"

Would you rather we go back to 140,000 troops in Iraq?
