I think it's a brilliant move. We need to take control of this message. Allowing the lies to continue is never a good idea. It's not a mosque... and it's not at ground zero... and our country is founded on freedom of religion... our ancestral Pilgrims fled England because of nonsense like this. We are not a Christian nation... we aren't a religious nation at all. There's a difference between extremist Muslims and those who want to build this COMMUNITY CENTER WITH A PRAYER ROOM, just as my little old Methodist neighbor isn't the same as the last asshat that blew up an abortion clinic. The distinction needs to be made, maybe a 1000 times.

I don't think this will be as much as an issue as the GOP is hoping for. Nor do I think it will necessarily help them in local races. Remember, Obama is not running, and a lot of Dems are staking out their own positions.
