WHAT THE F**K! We can bail the banks out to the tune of TRILLIONS, but --
they can't bail out our small businesses with loans?

I sometimes wonder how much worse off we would be if we
just let them all fall face flat in their own shit and
did NOT bail them out. How much worse?

7. Seems like it's ok to bail out a corporation, but when the little guy wants help -
he's asking for a "hand-out" and then the GOP
reaches for their blow-horns.

9. well, gee, we'd love to bail the small business out, but see, there's this big deficit
which is so high because we bailed out the big banks first.

so it's the small businesses' fault for not getting their hat in hand first....

10. Much worse in the short term
But in the long term, our country might just survive. If we continue this, we will not.

12. Not worse at all..
... the whole idea that we had no choice but to bail out the banks and AIG is bullshit. It would have been painful, but it's moot because our government is owned by those interests so it will never happen.

Most players that I respect claim that all of the big banks are still actually bankrupt if they had to mark their "assets" to market, i.e. what they are actually worth.

The Fed / Treasury are banking on re-inflating the housing bubble to correct this, but only a toadstool thinks that has any chance of happening. So, it is quite likely that the bankster bailouts are not even done yet.
