Sec'y Napolitano on the Diane Rehm show this a.m. (Mon.). Repellent performance...
I can't do it justice. You'd have to go to the website and listen to the whole show.

I don't think it's up yet for viewing on the website, but here's the link:

http://thedianerehmshow.org/

Ms. Napolitano was discussing the "See something, say something" program, one more alleged attempt to keep us safe from "turrists".

During the call-in segment one caller stated that he was a professional photographer. He stated that he often takes pictures of public buildings and other public facilities. His concern was that he is often questioned about his motives for taking said pictures and he went on to question why photographers were barred, by BP, from the Gulf area during the well blowout.

Ms. N. sort of chuckled** and then said that there was one minor altercation between a photographer and BP, which was quickly resolved, and that, furthermore, the general public could view BP's activities on a 24/7 basis online.

She. was. lying. First of all, during the worst of the disaster there was thread after thread on DU, from credible news sources describing how people who wanted to photograph the GOM area encountered thugs who denied them access. Even aircraft were not allowed to fly over the area at an altitude that would permit photographic evidence of the extent of the oil spill. There was at least one YouTube video I saw where a young man was photographing a BP facility from across the street, on public property, and he was being harassed by some rent-a cop from BP.

Even more egregious was Ms. N's "24/7" reference. She was referring, of course, to the video feed from the camera positioned near the well-bore, which had NOTHING to do with the issue the caller was addressing.

Ms. Napolitano is a craven liar and I wouldn't trust anything she said. It goes without saying that Diane didn't dispute any of this pack of lies.

**Diane needs to caution her guests about snickering into the mike. It's ill-mannered.
