Did they get some temporary boost from this whole thing? Probably. Will it last through Nov? Nope.

2. I don't see this republican stance on the Islamic Center in NY working out well for them.
In the end, it will appear as an act of bigotry. If the planners decide not to build, it will look worse for them because it says "right wing Americans did not allow a religious freedom". If they do build, it will be ugly and the world will see the worst side of America as the opponents make ugly demonstrations as it is being built.
