••• EVIL OMEN - Videos: Tough Reid ads should be slaughtering Angle. But they're not. •••
Edited on Tue Aug-24-10 06:44 AM by breadandwine

Harry Reid is now neck-and-neck with Sharon Angle, 46 to 44%. They are both inching up toward 50%. Factor in the fact that Angle supporters are fanatics who are more energized to vote than Reid supporters and it gets worse. Reid is under 50%, a huge warning sign for such an incumbent as every political scientist will tell you. They're 2% apart, inside the margin of error.

Given the huge avalanche of ads Reid is running against Angle, he should be SLAUGHTERING her by now. He is not. Yet he is running against one of the easiest people in the country to beat and he has the most powerful incumbency in the Senate, normally a huge favorable factor.

Why is it still neck-and-neck?

Here are some of the Reid ads against Angle. How could nearly half the state be such brain-dead ZOMBIES headed to the polls with pitchforks to vote for Angle?

Sharon Angle - Executive Orders Are Unconstitutional

This ad has Angle saying basically that there is no such thing as an executive branch. AND she supports dumping nuclear waste in Nevada's Yucca Mountain, a huge sore point with Nevadans. This OF ITSELF should kill her candidacy right here. But it hasn't.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5p9oU1DVMMg&NR=1

Sharon Angle - Just Too Extreme

Angle is shown in this ad wanting to get rid of Social Security and saying the unemployed are spoiled. Nevada has high unemployment. This should be killing Angle by now. It's not. She is actually gaining in the polls.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aOvyUx0Vzbg

Angle Extreme & Dangerous Education Agenda

Reid is shown saving Nevada education jobs through emergency spending while Angle is shown saying the emergency is only in Reid's mind and calling for the elimination of the Education Department and supporting teacher layoffs. Wait a minute. Weren't the Republicans blaming the Democrats for unemployment? Never mind that. Here Angle is shown OPPOSING jobs. Why is this vulture still standing?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PlrQ1MiLkk4

Sharon Angle – Separation of Church and State

Angle is shown denying that there even IS such a thing as separation of church and state and saying the Jefferson was misquoted. The Constitution says right in the 1st Amendment "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion." THAT'S separation of church and state. Angle says Thomas Jefferson was MISQUOTED. Firstly, he didn't write the Constitution. He wrote the Declaration of Independence. Secondly, is she saying the 1st Amendment was a misquote?

How is this fruitcake who is getting hammered by Reid ads as he runs against one of the country's biggest born losers managing to keep it neck-and-neck? If we can't even put THIS nut away, what hope is there for the Democrats elsewhere in the country who don't have opponents quite so nutty?

Nevadans are insane. The whole COUNTRY is insane. We are in trouble. Elsewhere Democrats are fighting the GOP with kid gloves. The DNC is fighting the GOP with kid gloves. They don't even know what political fisticuffs is. They think it's singular: I gave my opponent - a - fisticuff. Now back to my positive thinking seminars and collegial attitude. It's going to take a political blowtorch to beat the Republicans, and Democrats don't have the BALLS for that. What is the DNC thinking? That if only the GOP takes over and ruins the country and planet for ANOTHER eight years, that then the country will REALLY wake up?

1. Angle picks a position and sticks to it, come hell or high water.
Reid will take a stand and then backs down, like with his Cordoba House statement.

2. Sounds reasonable. Now consider this:

Say you're in a car. There are two other people in the car. One is competent, knows how to obey traffic laws and would never drive the car off a cliff. But he has this annoying habit of sometimes sticking his finger in the wind.

The other is a person who breaks traffic and other laws constantly and is hell-bent on driving the car right off a cliff. BAMMO!!!! But she never puts her finger in the wind.

Now who you gonna put behind the wheel?

Oh. I forgot. This is America. We have to put the maniac behind the wheel. We didn't learn our lesson yet. We need another 8 years of Republican government, economic chaos, environmental chaos and a good old fashioned depression, just the way we like it. If the country is too stupid to be against a depression let them have it. The worse things get the more people will wake up. Good idea.

Matter of fact, lets send a rocket up to redirect the course of an asteroid and have it smash right into Kansas. That'll teach Americans not to mess around with asteroids.

4. Not really...
...she has backtracked on several of her more extreme views, including getting rid of the Department of Education (now she just wants to make sure it doesn't spend too much) and privatizing Social Security (now she talks about protecting the funds in the "lock box", shades of Al Gore).

Half the time she's running away from the press.

So I don't think you can say, really, that she takes a position and sticks to it.

3. Angle is now outspending Reid with ads to repackage herself with $ from Karl Rove's mystery money

machine. This is a big part of the problem. The corporate cash is now flooding in. We're going to see this all over the country. Races we should have won are going to get swamped with corporate cash and we're are going to go down in flames all over.

6. This from the best polls money can buy
Edited on Tue Aug-24-10 09:20 AM by lunatica
it behooves us to fucking wake up. Anyone who believes this crap needs a reality check. No matter how loud FOX NEWS screams we still aren't an Idiocracy. But we are a Corporatocricy and it's minions are the ones buying the polls.

If they can't steal the elections in every single case they'll go for the Democratic leaders. Nevada has been faithful to Reid but we're to believe that an idiot who came out of nowhere is suddenly the state darling?

Same goes for Barbara Boxer and Jerry Brown. They're known Progressives who've been re-elected forever but suddenly Fiorina and Whitman who no one knew a year ago are looking good to Californians? Not fucking likely.

7. If there are polls that are the best money can buy, there are also elections and e-voting systems

too that are the best money can buy.

Waking up is a double-edged sword.

When Obama got elected the first thing he should have done was to get rid of electronic voting.

Instead he went off on a wild goose chase with healthcare that was a big corporate cave in anyway.

And do you know why?

Not because we needed it. But because he got pushed into it during the campaign by Hillary Clinton for whom it was her big thing.

And do you know WHY healthcare was her big thing?

Because her husband Bill made it HIS big thing.

And do you know WHY Bill Clinton made healthcare his big thing?

Not because it was really the most urgent thing, no.

After deriding Bush for referring to "the vision thing" since Bush really didn't have one, instead of truly having vision once Clinton became president he commissioned pollster Stan Greenberg to find out what the voters wanted. Greenberg came back with his genius recommendation: If you pass healthcare you can't lose. Everyone will love you and Democratic victory will be a sure thing.

So much for polling being our best friend.

Understand: If polls can be rigged, they can serve as good alibis for rigged elections. After the election is stolen the GOP can hide behind the polls and say, welp, the polls showed we were going to win. Pay no attention to the servers we hacked.

8. Angle is being repackaged by slick consultants who couldn't care less about consistency

and will make sure the voters don't care either.

And she's got a tsunami of cash coming in with "independent" corporate ads being run by Karl Rove.

Senator Reid is screwed.

And he of all people should be riding high. If he can't make it, the whole party can't make and the GOP barbarians are at the gates, pounding on the door and will take over on election day.
