4. I just discovered OpEdNews
OpEdNews really has a deep coverage of political news. It doesn't have an App though, so not as good for Smart Phones. I agree on Huff. - too much fluff, not updated often enough. Same with Daily Beast.

5. A tabloid with lots of anti-science and autism woo as well.
HuffPo is crap.

6. The health section is full of quackery; the entertainment is
enough to make TMZ blush with embarrassment. But, I do like that she includes a tech section and even covers Denver politics, albeit not always that well. Ariana Huffington's goal was always to be the "most read" blog site, which is why she pulls in all those damned RWers to write. Nonetheless, she still does lean left, so I put up with the bad for the good.

9. Soak it in salt water first to take away the bitter taste. If you don't mind the salt,
it's pretty tasty.

10. That helps?
I really don't like it the way it's prepared in most restaurants, grilled or parmegianed, or whatever. I've always wondered if I'm missing something.

11. You betcha. Soak it a few hours in salt water and the bitterness goes away.
You still may not like the taste/texture, though...

13. My mother used to make some casserole with it.
It had meat, so I can't use that recipe, but it came out baked and mixed with other ingredients that made the texture different. I liked that better than the way most people prepare it now, as a stand-alone flavor.

18. Actually, let me clarify. Sorry to perpetuate an eggplant thread, but all you really need to do
is sprinkle some salt on the sliced eggplant, then let it sit in the fridge for a few hours. The salt will draw the (bitter) juices out by itself... no need to soak in water too. (Throw away the juice.)

I got it wrong the first time, and didn't want to mislead... :-)

21. Are you kidding?
I was just trying to hijack the thread in the first place. :) It was a commentary on the lack of content following a seemingly random statement, meant to be a friendly, humorous jab at the OP. Instead it turned into a useful recipe or two for me.

20. Slice a smallish eggplant into 1/8" wheels, coat with breading, fry 'til golden, serve
on pita bread with iceberg lettuce, tomato and yogurt. Yum!

24. How do you get the breading to stay on? It always falls off when I fry it.
I must be doing something wrong... :-(

27. I use chickpea flour and an egg (and seasonings) blended together.
Only coat right before immersing in the oil (which should be pre-heated).

23. Even better;
cover the slices in salt and let them rest on a wire rack over the sink for an hour, then rinse all the salt off. Improves flavor and texture dramatically by drawing out excess water.

25. John MAYER (I don't know who he is) agrees and delivers a priceless smackdown of HuffPo
**********QUOTE********

John Mayer to Huffington Post: 'Go F—k Yourself'

The story: This morning the HuffPo speculates that lover, crooner, fighter Mayer might be getting back with Jennifer Aniston, based on things said at a concert. Mayer then responds, says everything is out of context, and invents exciting new phrases.

(QUOTE: ) The reason I'm calling you out instead of all the other magazines that make stories up out of thin air is that In Touch and Star Magazine aren't concurrently writing pieces about Pat Tillman or WikiLeaks. Those other rags know who they are, and even if they're obnoxious, I'd rather have to live with them because they (and the rest of the world) know where they stand, which doesn't make them one tenth as dangerous as you are. You're a stripper wearing reading glasses. Or maybe you're an insolvent law student willing to dance for a few extra dollars. Either way, it's uncomfortable to watch you try to wrap yourself around a pole when you have that C-Span scar.

I'm not a politician. I have no celebrity endorsements. So it is with a clear conscience that I'm able to title your piece on this post, should you decide to try make a few more bucks for whatever body wash or slasher flick you're hocking today.

JOHN MAYER SLAMS HUFFPO: " GO F**K YOURSELF!" ( :UNQUOTE)

C-Span scar?? What does that even mean? I'm sure it's something bad. I also like the idea of the Huffington Post as a single entity, fucking itself. How exactly does a blog fuck itself? What are the mechanics of that? Lifehacker? Can you explain this please?

Anyway, there you have it. John Mayer has finally defeated the Huffington Post. And the rest was silence.

Oh, except one last question. Why is John Mayer still on the internet?
