Picture showing the crowd size in Beck Rally

It is a good turnout. But one heck of a boring rally.

4. I see NO signs in the crowd!
Strange. Are they taking them away from people at the checkpoint where they search for hidden KKK clothing?

7. MSNBC said that the participants were specifically told that there would be NO signs allowed.
They've got Beckerhead and Sarahcuda up there -- why embarrass themselves any further?

43. Understandable, as they didn't want the media to capture the odd misspelled sign
Which, in their case, would have been about 99% of them, more if you discount D.C. street signs already in place.

29. A lot of them paid themselves for the rented buses
Googling I saw anywhere from $30 from NC to near $100 from MO. And some had to pay for overnight rooms if coming in from a distant state.

21. Their events are also MSM pre-publicized and well-funded.
I guarandamntee if the MSM publicized a New Jobs and Economic Recovery rally on the Mall a couple of months before, the turnout would be giant - at least triple the size of that crapcake. Our plea would resonate farther and wider than . . . than . . . well, what the hell WAS Beck saying anyway?

The operative word, of course, being "IF".

42. If we base our events on media coverage.....
we lose. The media won't cover our events.

We need a whole new approach to activism. We should stop doing the same old stuff, and be brainstorming a mew vision of activism.

15. Absolutely perfect gathering for a Rapture to occur, IMO.
Most of those in attendance truly believe that they are pious & holier than thou, and so God could really save some time and effort in lifting them all up into the heavens en-masse, instead of having to search for and pick them off one by one, except those of course, who regrettably couldn't make the trip to Beckster's DC rally...

23. Don't think I would call it a "rally", at least not in the terms that we're used to -
- I've been watching since about 11:45 and I'd call it more of a "Revival" - similar to the old tent revivals. I'll admit that I'm surprised at the size of the crowd. Lots of people.

25. Sooooooooooooo, Isn't It About Time "We" Don Another... Especially Since
the SS issue that is front and center!! I KNOW what so many have said about our marches in the past, and we really haven't gotten the coverage this one has because of "what I don't know!" BUT, we can't just sit here and type, sign petitions, write letters and call!! WHY?? Because THEY aren't listening to us!

WE NEED TO SHOW THEM!! We NEED to counter-attack because THEY think THEY have it all going on! And, at least THEY are showing up! WE ARE NOT!!

And yes, I gone to marches and come away crestfallen because of lack of coverage, but maybe, just maybe THIS TIME, since we will be marching again our very own Democrats and THIS WH, we might just get a LOT more coverage again!!

To THE STREETS! PLEASE!! I don't know how to get this going, but I will scrape my pennies (literally) together and try to BE THERE!

I'm totally fed up with "WORDS!"

past!! He was a Democrat and said in the end, that the Viet Nam War killed him and he wouldn't run ever again! It was what drove him from politics!

Just because Democrats control everything doesn't mean WE have to follow along like so many SHEEPLE!!

34. I read on MSNBC that an official estimated the crowd size to be 300k
NBC's Domenico Montanaro tweets from the Mall: There won't be official #s. Parks Svc/police don't do that anymore. But official at top of memorial said 300-325K. There are a LOT of people.

38. You just said the NPS doesn't do that any more
The Times is saying tens of thousands. The Times is an Establishment paper, not The Nation, so if it was hundreds of thousands, they would say it. The crowd doesn't even cover the grass around the Reflection pool. Lots more people at the Xenophobe Rally last year.

40. Once again the Right proves it can only imitate.....
what the Left has done before.

But the Civil Rights movement was about a lot more than large rallies. It was about years and years of voter registration work, sit-ins, court battles and more. What are these Beck morans going to do when they go home? Nothing, except tuning in to Beck to listen to how great it was.
