Do Asians get married?
Edited on Sun Aug-29-10 12:20 PM by Kurt_and_Hunter
Listening to a clip on TV of Mehlman from 2004...

He was talking about how same-sex marriage would undermine one of Western Civilizations greatest contributions to the world: The institution of monogamous life-long marriage between a man and a woman.

I presume that the British Empire must have exported this amazing Western novelty to the savage nations.

He did not comment on other innovations of Western Civilization like the opposable thumb and language.

The very fact that this guy was not laughed out of the media field speaks volumes about the despicable lows the media has fallen to.

3. Stupid, most ignorant thing
thing I've ever heard out of someone who went from Harvard.

6.  Mehlman?
Not undergrad, at any rate.

I'm embarrassed to say we share status as alumni of the same school, and it wasn't Harvard.

5. He qualifies as a dumbass on at least two counts.
1) He needs to check the statistics. Monogamous life-long marriage is an exception not the norm.
2) It wasn't the W. Civ's contribution to the world.

Above posters are right though, he's just playing to an ignorant audience that will shake its dumb little head yes and accept the underwritten meme that "gays are bad".
