GET YOUR FLAG READY!
I received this in an email today, I am sending it to all my friends and am sharing it with you.

Greetings All,

Some of you may not recognize me!!

I hope this made it through your spam filter!!

I am an American!! Bleed red white & blue!!

I don’t normally send email to people I do not know, but I know you, for you are all Americans also!!

God Bless the United States of America!!

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!!!!

DON'T CALL IT YOUR
COUNTRY--IF YOU WON'T
FIGHT FOR IT!

GET YOUR FLAG READY!

THE PROGRAM:

On Saturday, September 11th, 2010, an American flag should be displayed outside every home, apartment, office, and store in the United States . Every individual should make it their duty to display an American flag on this ninth anniversary of one our country's worst tragedies. We do this honor of those who lost their lives on 9/11, their families, friends and loved ones who continue to endure the pain, and those who today are fighting at home and abroad to preserve our cherished freedoms.

In the days, weeks and months following 9/11, our country was bathed in American flags as citizens mourned the incredible losses and stood shoulder-to-shoulder against terrorism. Sadly, those flags have all but disappeared. Our patriotism pulled us through some tough times and it shouldn't take another attack to galvanize us in solidarity. Our American flag is the fabric of our country and together we can prevail over terrorism of all kinds.

Action Plan:

So, here's what we need you to do ...

(1) Forward this email to everyone you know (at least 11 people). Please don't be the one to break this chain. Take a moment to think back to how you felt on 9/11 and let those sentiments guide you.

(2) Fly an American flag of any size on 9/11. Honestly, Americans should fly the flag year-round, but if you don't, then at least make it a priority on this day.

Thank you for your participation.
God Bless You and God Bless America !!!

2. Hmmm.

I think a fitting effort in "honor of those who lost their lives on 9/11, their families, friends... and those who today are fighting at home and abroad to preserve our cherished freedoms" would be to launch REAL investigations into 9/11, and the build-up to two wars.

My sig line links to the 9/11 Commission page where unanswered questions are listed. Can you handle it?

4. Unfortunetly the flag has been programmed by many people for many people.

With messages against the concept of the flag.

By getting people to think the flag is attached to some party, or some thought, then the flag can reinforce that flag.

So yea, flying the flag as a Democrat is a good idea, but also say what the flag means to you when you talk to people, and more importantly ask them what it means to them.

Although I feel like I am on a soap box a bit. Maybe still caring a flag :)

6. "Fighting for it" is flying a flag?

I took a moment to think back to how I felt on 9/11, and how I felt was sick to my stomach. Perhaps we should let those sentiments guide us, and we should all puke on 9/11.

:puke:

7. Gee I wonder if my nephew who was riding with his platoon in Afganistan knows that
he didn't have to go over to Afganistan he could have flown a flag instead of being put into harms way when the vehicle they were riding in hit a road side bomb :sarcasm:. Btw the way, everyone was lucky and only suffered cuts and bruises, some times they get lucky.

11. I don't support the troops or my country by
wearing my patriotism on my sleeves or any outward advertising. It is what I do without the advertising that counts.

13. Precisely
:toast:
I don't need a flag or a support the troops car magnet (made in China) to know what I am about.

I think the best support for the troops is a message to your Congressman to bring them home.
