8. There;s one thing you're forgetting
If Election night shows a lot of Rethugs winning east of the Mississippi, then that usually tends to depress Democratic turnout in the west. Since Alaska is as west as it gets, it might well be swept up in a tide of progressive discouragement.

It's happened before.

11. As Alaskans have been saying for decades...
"We don't give a F*** how they do it Outside."

This is an ALASKAN race, not a national race, and my guess is the turnout will be fine with the stakes so high.

14. That's a noble goal
But in a world of exit polls, it's just not going to happen.

What if we did things the other way around, and had a uniform poll closing time, so that all polls would close at the exact same hour? You could open them the day before to give people a chance to vote, if the poll closing hour was too early in a given time zone.

Better yet, why not have Sunday voting like 95% of the civilized world does?

and he hasn't even begun to campaign. Miller spent $600,000 during the primary on making himself look like an asshole, with untenable positions and no respect for Alaska's senior senator.

A very significant factor in the race is that McAdams has a 22 point lead among Alaska's voters not affiliated with a major party, which is about 65% of the electorate.

I'm feeling really good about this race.
