Maybe it's a little over-the-top. But you have a government who, previous to an election, deny having any knowledge about a tax they want to impose, then we catch them red-handed planning it beforehand.

If government were held legally accountable in a case like this, maybe that would discourage more lies and BS.

1. I had to Google HST (its not a familiar acronym here in the US)
And I dont blame you for being pissed.

It sounds like a pre planned sham to surreptitiously raise taxes.

2. No, that isn't sedition...
Sedition is an illegal action inciting resistance to lawful authority and tending to cause the disruption or overthrow of the government. They just lied to you about the Harmonized Sales Tax, which isn't illegal and will not lead to their overthrowing the government.

So, yes, you were a little over the top.

3. That said....

The authority is the office of government, not the party. They lied to the people, who are the office stakeholders to take over the office and get governmental control...Which I think could be argued.

5. I don't get it.
The HST (Harmonized Sales Tax) simply combines two existing taxes and is supposed to be revenue neutral. Is it any more regressive than what you already have now? Why the furor over it?

7. Because it applies to many things that weren't taxed before
Such as apartment rent.
