3. We can organize this on DU
who is going, who has room, who needs gas money etc.

People can put their needs on wishadoo and everyone can contribute.

4. question
I don't know too much about Wishadoo... is Wishadoo a good place to organize? I am willing to do what I can... I live on the road (in Dallas right now, Troy, Alabama next week and onto Virginia by the end of the month, but if I can do some organizing online, I've got time.

11. wishadoo- it seems you could ask for gas money, then offer rides if you have extra room
here is another thread on wishadoo and it seems maybe this protest coming up would be a great way to get some action going on the site and promote if for it's other services?

12. Hi, Handmade and Count Olaf....

:hi:

Here are two ways to go about this perhaps, if you're so inclined:

1. First, I had created a "Progressives" group at Wishadoo; it is really meant for DUers (past and present) but I never obtained permission to refer to it as Wishadoo's "DU Group," and don't want to infringe upon Skinner and this site in any way, even though I see us working together.

If you need a place to gather and discuss things, the Groups at Wishadoo have their own forum, an events feature, and I'm trying to get chat programmed in as well (still programming tweaks afoot which is why I'm not "blasting" Wishadoo beyond DU at present).

http://www.wishadoo.com/groups/view/id_13/title_PROGRESSIVES/

2. As far as needs -- for anything, including raising money to attend a march or protest or something -- so long as it's legal, people can post to the Wishlist after joining. You can absolutely post this type of need at the Wishlist and people can reply directly, you can discuss it in the Progressives Group forum, etc.

3. If people feel it's helpful, I can create a fundraiser on someone's behalf; someone else would need to be in charge of it, per se, with the funds going to a specific person, but if there's a desire for a fundraiser to raise money to get people to this march and someone wants to spearhead it, I can set it up under our Wishadoo fundraising partner site.

BTW, for anyone reading, there are several posts at the Wishlist now by DUers. :hi:

Just let me know how I can help! I also would LOVE to have Stephen Colbert be there on 10/2/10!!!! :bounce:
