A crazy judge throws out Obama's stem-cell policy—and Bush's.
The stem-cell ruling, issued Monday by U.S. District Chief Judge Royce Lamberth, says that federal funding of research using cells derived from destroyed embryos violates federal law. Pro-lifers are ecstatic.

But this ruling goes way beyond Obama. It voids Bush's stem-cell policy, too. And it does so on flimsy grounds with sloppy reasoning.

1. Why have Democrats allowed the Dickey Amendment to be passed every year?
I'm guessing this is being passed as an appropriations rider to circumvent a Senate filibuster. But holy shit, can't we find 50 Senate votes to block it? And if Obama doesn't veto it next time around, why not?
