I think the only way to make America and Americans care less about the Pakistan flooding would if
it were in Louisiana. I'm sure our "take care of our own," crowd loves our nation's level of concern toward it.

The people that would normally give money to these disasters are unemployed or hanging on by a thread.

I believe that many Americans care but there are basic human needs
according to Maslow's hierarchy of needs:

There are many in this country that are struggling with the most basic individual needs. It is hard for them to think outside of their individual struggles.

The people in Pakistan are experiencing the same requirements.

I am concerned for the people of Pakistan and I am also concerned about the Americans that are suffering too.

Some of us worry about affording hamburger, beans and rice. We are trying to figure out what to drop next, so we can pay our mortgages.
